Great location
94% of recent guests gave the location a 5-star rating.
This off-grid, two bedroom log cabin has a private hiking trail along the top of the Deacon Escarpment leading to your stunning view of Golden Lake. Enjoy exploring, hiking, and canoeing; after your day in nature you can relax in the cabin's comforts: propane fireplace, fridge/freezer, kitchenware, stove with oven, 24" TV (requires your memory stick for movie nights), washroom with composting toilet and vanity with water, & deck BBQ. Bedrooms each have single over double bunks. Free shuttle!

The space
Furnishings include island with stool seating and couch for extra guests. The cabin is equipped with interior and exterior solar lighting. There is a private deck view of the Bonnechere Valley. There is outdoor log seating around the campfire as well as a picnic table. Campfire wood is available for purchase. The forest and ponds of the escarpment provide wildlife viewing year round especially in the winter for the whitetail deer migration. Don't forget your camera! Seasonal solar shower by the cabin!

Guest access
The cabin is at its own private location on the property. Campers enjoy access to a escarpment picnic area which is breathtaking for autumn leaf viewing, as well as marked hiking/snowshoeing trails including a trail that leads to a small lake with canoes reserved for cabin quests! Bring a field guide along on a hike to help you identify plants and wildlife--available in your cabin. Available to rent: snowshoes, ice hut.

Other things to note
Our forested nature trails are mostly rugged with seasonal wet areas. The escarpment has steep drops in places; please keep an eye on your children!
Quality hiking shoes or boots for your hike are strongly advised.
Late May-July is our main mosquito season. Insect repellent, pants with long sleeve shirt and bug jacket is recommended.
Well-behaved pets are welcome. Please keep them close or on a leash so they do not chase animals. We also offer tenting sites year round. Visit our website to find out more!

We were born and raised in the Ottawa Valley, so it is no surprise that we have chosen this amazing place to raise our family and to start a business that incorporates all the natural beauty of the area. Being in the outdoors and teaching our children to appreciate nature is a big priority for us. Most of our vacations are based around exploring new places, camping, hunting and fishing. These experiences keep us connected and create amazing memories. Our goal is to provide a private place for you to discover. A quiet place with rural hospitality, woods, wetlands, lakes and wildlife.
