Need a retreat? This lovely cottage sits on ten acres with its own pine forest and a vineyard. Available for monthly rentals only. It will take you to a different era! In need of quiet reflection time? On the property are walking paths around the vineyard and through the five acres of woods. Some daily physical activity? Island Greens 9-hole golf course is across the street (clubs available at the cottage), or use our bicycles. Side trips? Enjoy Whidbey Island!

The space

Our farm house retains its 1930's aura, and sits next to a vineyard that produces grapes for the nearby Whidbey Island Winery. It is a peaceful place where you can eat alfresco on the lawns or porches; relax in the whirlpool bathtub while you gaze out the window at the rows of grapevines. Play board games in front of the electric fireplace.
Both bedrooms have French doors overlooking the vineyard. The master bedroom has a queen bed with a new Four Seasons mattress. The second bedroom has XL bunk bed with a trundle.

Guest access

Guests have access to the entire house, garden shed, playhouse, and grounds. Please enjoy views of the vineyard from outside the fence only, and be aware that there are unannounced workers from the Whidbey Island Winery on the property at times. The basement is a private area, and for safety reasons, its door should remain closed.

Interaction with guests

We will provide information via email on how to gain access, otherwise you won't hear a peep from us unless you need to!
Upon arrival you will find our Guidebook with more information about the house, the internet access, and our recommendations for restaurants and things to do on the island.

This was, by far, one of the most special places that I have had the privledge to call "home". Pictures cannot begin to do it justice! Cindy was wonderful throughout, and the entire experience was worth raving about. I would recommend the cottage to anyone looking to stay on Whidbey Island. I will be thinking about it for some time to come!

Such a fantastic little spot. Very cozy French cottage vibe. We could definitely get used to waking up to the sun over vineyard and to the smell of fresh flowers every morning! Very peaceful, but not boring at all. Within minutes to several cute towns with great restaurants and shopping. Very short ferry ride to Seattle. We had our pup with us and she absolutely loved the property--she'd just lounge on the deck for hours and watch for bunnies. There was some intrusion into the attic from the local squirrel population, but the owners were on top of it with pest control there within a day to tackle the situation. They were always available via email, and quick to respond, never needed to call any of the many emergency numbers they provided. Landscaping was rustic but beautiful and well-maintained over our stay. We walked the perimeter of the property and the trail out back daily to soak in the nature. We highly recommend this cottage for a place to relax and decompress!

Cindy was very welcoming, helpful and answered all of my questions. The home was as described on the listing. It was a good value for our family and the location was great to tour the island and enjoy many fun activities such as kayaking, go cart racing, and Deception Pass.

The Clinton Cottage was a very pleasant place for the 5 of us (2 adults, 2 seniors and 1 child). It was easily accessible to the ferry and Langley. We had a lovely weekend there, enjoying the Whidbey Highland Games and the Island County Fair!

This was a great time to visit South Whidbey! The Chicken Olympics at the Fair is a favorite show of ours! Thank you for staying at our cottage and for sharing your enjoyment of both the cottage and the Island activities.

Cindy was wonderful. She answered all my questions promptly. I rented this property for part of my employer's family that was visiting Whidbey Island for a family reunion. I previewed the property and it is gorgeous, charming and private. The family that stayed there loved the cozy cottage feel of the farmhouse. The property was fantastic for their three boys to run around. Thank you Cindy, I will send referrals your way!

The cottage is beautiful, comfortable, and was a great hub for exploring the island. With shops and amenities close by, this is an excellent place to stay. I stayed with friends, as we attended a wedding. It comfortably accommodated us, and there was plenty of space for reading or sitting outside. The hammock is particularly pleasant on a warm evening.

Thank you, Andrei, for sharing your experience in the 1930's cottage! There could not be a better place for reading! Inside and out! We are happy to hear that all of you were comfortable. Weddings are more fun in a magical place like the Whidbey Island countryside.

The setting is peaceful, extremely private and relaxing. From the minute you turn up the tree-lined drive and step through the wooden gate you know you are someplace special. You feel as if you are miles away from everything, and yet you are very close to towns, beaches and wonderful activities the island has to offer. The home is idyllic. The farm style kitchen is well equipped and a pleasure to cook in. Joe and Cindy are wonderful hosts. We appreciated every little detail from the splendid wine, abundance of fluffy towels in the bath, buttery soft sheets on the bed, to the golf clubs for use at the fun golf course just across the road. Every room is filled with vintage charm and natural light, comfortable furniture, and french doors opening to amazing, magical outdoor garden spaces. The misty sunrise over the vineyard was a perfect beginning to every day. Quiet nights, beautiful days… we didn’t want to leave.

Thank you so much! This review is overwhelmingly lovely and heartfelt. You feel about the house and the land just as we do! Thank you for putting it into words. Glad your family had fun on the golf course, and thank you for sharing the passes with future guests. We will take you up on the idea of more outdoor furniture. Thank you again for staying with us and for sending your kind words.
