WELCOME !

The space
From all aspects we have tried to make the houses a comfortable, modern and luxurious place to dwell in (with a little twist of old nordic countrystyle).

Our beds are from a high quality manifacturer wich hopefully will give everyone a good nights rest.
The bed linens and our bath towels are made from 100% organic fair trade cotton.

Our soaps are all either organic or naturally made (with the exception of the dishwasher soap).

When the houses are cleaned we only use organic soaps and cleaning products.

Location

Kópasker, Iceland

Our place is unique in many ways. It´s an old farm located a few hundred meters away from a big National park. The chalets sit at the end of one of the big walls of Ásbyrgi that shape the form of that part of the park. There is a big privite birchforrest on our land and part of it is in the National park. You can for excample take a beautifull hike through the forrest and walk along the big cliffwalls. Almost anywhere on our land you have an incredible view in almost any direction.
Just 2 km away you can find inside the national park a local grocery store, grill, a small golf course, horseriding tours, you can rent a bike and visit the information center.
9 km away you can find a small swimmingpool witch is grate for the kids to play in.

This is the perfect place for daytrips.
Dettifoss waterfall is 34 km away (summerroad).
Lake Mývatn is 76 km away (summerroad).
Whale watching Húsavík is 59 km away.
The earthquake Museum in Kópasker is 35 km away.

You are most welcome to come and enjoy our beautifull area.

I am an open minded person who believes that nothing comes for granted. You are what you make of your self. Others are not to blame where you are in life. We all get affected with difficulties through life. That what defines us from others is what we do with our self through those difficult times and how we work our way out of them, making them our allies at the end. To gain the ability to turn a negative thing into something positive. To see the possibillities in stead of focusing on the problem. To be humble and ask for help when you need it. There is always someone around us that is willing to help.

During your stay
I am always reachable through telephone.
During summertime I am usually there or close by.
During Autumn-, winter- and springtime my sceduel is somewhat different so I am usually not on the premises when guests arrive, but on working days (monday to thirsdays) I am usually there between 9:00 and 15:30.

Allthough I would be very glad to meet everyone personally I do respect the guests privacy. I do try to meet guests if it´s possible but at the same time I know that it is not polite to show up on their doorsteps at any time. However I do sometimes visit people to say hello and to check out if everything is ok.

All guests are then more then welcome to stop by at the old house for a visit and a cup of coffee during their stay.
