My partner is away in Paris for a semester abroad and we're sharing our spare room with guests. Your private bedroom comes with a large futon, window, a bathroom, tub and shower, wifi, TV, and a full kitchen with dishwasher. Great for couples too!

The space

Our 3 bed, 2 bath apartment has almost 1000sq feet of space, and includes at least one brick wall in each room! We only have one another apartment in the pre-war building, making it very quiet and private. Your private room is large, with window looking North out onto the private roof area (access through window). There is a drafting table with paper, pens, pencils and a vintage IBM Typewriter. The futon is full-sized, very comfortable and comes with sheets. You have shared access to the living room, with a Plasma TV, surround sound, Netflix, Cable TV, a PS3, and a big leather couch. The kitchen is fully furnished, ready to cook- 4 burner gas cooktop and oven, dishwasher, microwave, toaster oven, and fridge/freezer.

Guest access

Guests will have 24/7 access to the apartment, including bedroom, bathroom with tub and shower, the living room with entertainment center, and the kitchen. I will provide clean linens and towels.

Interaction with guests

I'm here to make your stay as comfortable as possible! Need quiet time to write, do work, or complete a project? No problem! Up for a coffee or a beer and some friendly conversation? That's great too. My roomate Marina is an art student, she has the front bedroom off the living room. She's very friendly too :)

Other things to note

The apartment is equipped with two Smoke & CO Detectors, as well as a fire extinguisher in the kitchen.

Tim was a great, laid back host and the apartment was excellently located with a lot of character and art. A nice place to come back to.

The room was great for us and really handy for the metro. It's a very laid back place - It was our first time staying in somebody's flat with them so we weren't sure how it would be but it worked fine - we were out most of the time anyway so barely caught a glimpse of Tim! But he and his flatmate were friendly and welcoming. Thanks for having us.

Well, tim and his flatmate have been helpful! Not far from manhattan ( 40 min )! On the other hand, a little bit of cleaning wouldnt be too much in the house

the apt is amazing, arty and cozy. it's in a good place in brooklyn, next to the subway (M-J-Z line), full of young people and sourranded by a lot of nice venues, markets and restaurants/bar. tim is absolutely a nice guest, kind and cool. unfortunately I've stayed for only three nights. next time in NY I'd love to book here for more days. strongly advised. :) oh I forget, the apt is right above Lil Skips cafe where you can find good coffee, bagels and nice people.

Tim was a great host who went out of his way to help me figure out NYC like printing out a (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) map to a restaurant. We spent half an hour sharing opinions over current affairs and talking about our jobs. The only thing he should do better is clear out the pile of trash in the kitchen. I understand that he works all day, but it creates a bad impression. But, overall, his casual friendliness made the stay worthwhile and I would recommend it to anybody else who isn't too fastidious about cleanliness.

The best stay in New York!!! Tim was really the best. We didn't have an American sim-card, so Tim came home from work early just to make sure we found the place and got safely there. The flat was amazing, very comfortable and warm. Our room was great and spacious. Since we lived in Brooklyn, we had to take the underground which was like less than 5 minute walk from the flat. It didn't take us long to get to Manhattan. The J-line is also a direct line to the Jamaica stop where you can take the airtrain to the JFK airport. Simply THE BEST!!

My life motto is 'I'll try anything once'

Smart, funny, easy to get along with. Most call me a geek. Things that make me happy- pizza, new friends, fixing a tough problem, whiskeys and bourbons, spending time outdoors, motorsports, art, photography, writing.

I've been told I'm a conversationalist, and a conscientious and warm host.
