Situated only 3 miles from downtown Fayetteville and within 15 min of trails, rivers, and climbing, this idyllic space makes you feel like you are in your own little ecotopia. The yurt sits on two secluded acres surrounded by gardens and forest. It is built eco-friendly complete with a composting toilet which is incredibly easy to use. Large windows are situated to allow natural sunlight and cross breezes and the dome in the center of the roof lets you sleep under the stars at night.

The space
The yurt feels like it is a lot bigger than it is. Sleeps two in the queen bed in the loft above and two in the full sized pull out sofa. Perfect for a couple, small family or very close friends. Note that the bathroom only has a curtain for privacy. There is another secluded outdoor, covered composting toilet overlooking the forest! Altogether, there is a lot of room outside to relax and play as well as a bonfire pit (must provide your own wood.)

There is no central heat, and although there is a fireplace it is not able to be used. There are two space heaters that keep the yurt plenty warm during cooler temps. A rolling AC unit can connect to the window during the summers months but with the well planned cross ventilation you hardly ever need it! The dome opens to allow all the hot air out at night and the yurt sleeps cool and comfy. New in 2020 is wifi access!

Guest access
You will have the whole yurt to yourselves. I do spend a bit of time down there tending to the gardens and the yard, but that might mean you have some fresh veggies to enjoy while you are there!

Other things to note
The toilets are composting toilets. One is located inside the yurt, and there is one attached to the back of the little red shed outside. Very easy to use and do not have an odor. They are cleaned with bleach water between uses and dried completely. Believe me, it’s cleaner than a normal toilet in the long run.

Co-Vid Cleaning updates:
On the host’s part:
Stringent cleaning guidelines will be followed. Luckily this small space is easy to clean. All surfaces regularly touched by guests will be wiped down with disinfecting cleaner.

Throw pillows will not be on the couch since these are hard to clean. A sheet will be over the couch and laundered with each stay. It’s not pretty but it’s cleaner!

On the guest’s part:
There will be disinfecting cleaners for you to use while here. If you take them you will be charged for them. Please don’t steal or use excessive toilet paper or cleaners. We all know these are in demand and I would like all guest to have access to them.

You will be expected to leave the yurt spotless. That means cleaning all your dishes thoroughly in hot water, wiping down all surfaces after eating and ideally surfaces you know you have touched. I will do the same but the more, the cleaner and safer! This protects me, you, and my future guests.

There is an orange hamper for you to put all your used towels and linens in.

If these guidelines are not adhered to you will be charged an extra $50 cleaning fee.

The yurt sits down a windy country road. Just 3 miles away is a Kroger, Walmart and everything else you could need but you feel like you are in the middle of nowhere.

I am an avid adventurer but make my home here in the New River Gorge area. The access to trails, rivers, lakes and endless rock climbing never leaves me yearning for outdoor adventure. I am a yoga instructor and Thai Bodywork Practitioner. Come have a session with me while you are in the area in my home studio which is close to my vacation yurt rental! I love sharing the beauty of West Virginia with others.
