The space
A quiet retreat in the heart of fabulous countryside and close to the historic city of Salisbury; 10 minutes drive to Wilton; 45 minutes from the beautiful Dorset coast and 20 minutes from Stonehenge and The New Forest. Main line train to London.

A very well appointed, light and airy conversion - part of a courtyard that was once a dairy farm, with level private entrance into the open plan lounge/kitchenette.
The lounge has sofa (convertible to sofa bed), eating area for up to 4 guests; TV with sky sports and movies; DVD player and selection of DVD's; free wifi; coffee table; independent heating; books, games, maps and visitor information.

The kitchenette is equipped with convection oven, a 2-ring induction hob, full sized electric oven and grill, microwave, fridge/freezer, sink, cafetiere, kettle, toaster and all the standard cooking and serving utensils. Crockery for up to 4 guests is provided. A washing machine is in the main house and the hosts are happy to provide this additional service at £4/load.

A staircase leads to the first floor bedroom with lovely comfortable king sized bed, side tables and additional seating to enjoy the views. Please note there is no stair gate.
A large walk-in shower and toilet are en-suite. There is ample hanging and drawer space.

A small outdoor landscaped and private seating area is available and good, private off road parking for up to two cars.

Tea and coffee making facilities are available all the time.

The Dovecote is a self-contained part of the courtyard with private access. You have complete and exclusive use of the facilities during your stay. The key is collected and deposited in the key safe for which access code will be provided a couple of days prior to your booking.

Arrival is 4.00pm. Departure is 10.00 am to enable cleaning for next guests. Early arrival and late departure can be arranged for a small additional charge. Please check in advance. Please ask if there is anything you need to know or any special arrangements you would like us to make, we will do our best to make your stay just right for you.

If there is anything not detailed then just ask. You will be responsible for ensuring the building is locked when you go out during the day and appliances and heating are switched off.

We live in the Longhouse next door and are very happy to help with making your stay as enjoyable and interesting as possible. However, we will be respecting social distancing and have implemented Covid-19 cleaning and sterilising measures to protect guests and ourselves. We will therefore respect your privacy and not disturb you unless contacted. The Courtyard is a quiet place and we wish for you to enjoy this peace. We would also ask in return for this to be respected so our friends and neighbours can continue to enjoy the quiet enjoyment of their homes.

Other things to note
We are a no smoking property.

We have 2 small Labrador dogs…mum and daughter. Both are very friendly, we also have chickens for fresh eggs which are just the tastiest ever!

Dogs can be accommodated but only by special arrangement and a £15 supplement for additional cleaning.

To help maintain the highest standards we would ask that shoes are not worn inside and that the hand sanitiser is used at all times prior to entering the Dovecote..

Local maps, visitor information and National Trust books provided.

Even with C19 restrictions there are great walks from the door; a lovely coffeeshop that will hopefully be back open soon; fresh local produce at the village shop; a monthly village cinema when we get back to normal (first Wednesday); water cress beds; mobile fish and chip van (Thursdays 4pm-6pm). Loads to see and do in the area.

In June the village is home to the Daily Mail History festival. Horse racing takes place at Salisbury race course which is just a 10 minute drive or an hours walk on country lanes. Polo takes place at Druids Lodge at the weekend and there are various point-to point races locally. An indoor carting circuit is 10 minutes drive and the Gurston Hill Climb takes place just over a mile away on half a dozen weekends in the year. Wilton outlet village and Wilton House are also a 10 minute drive.
There are lovely village pubs, the Queens Head just 5 mins hop the road; historic properties and beautiful countryside all around.
