Excellent place to stay to soak in the true Southern California experience. Relaxing, quaint neighborhood which is close to Ocean Beach and quick ride into landmarks like Balboa Park, Old Town and Gas Lamp. We definitely took advantage of the BBQ and outdoor courtyard which was i…

Great find in Point Loma, quiet neighborhood on the hill, with a nice view of the Harbor. Very spacious, perfect spot to relax. The communication with Elizabeth was A+, very fast to adapt.

Let me say this upfront: the neighborhood is great, the structure of the house is nice, master bathroom is beautiful. We encountered some issues while staying there but the thing that compelled me to write this review was the interactions with the host. The way some things added …

Response from Elizabeth:
Dear Kris, Your nasty review contains inaccurate statements and convenient omissions, which we will clarify as follows: 1.Our home has been furnished exactly the same for all bookings since it was first listed on AirBnb. We are minimalists. The only difference for you, and two bookings both before and after you, is that a realtor sign was posted in the front yard and a lockbox placed on the garage door. Blessedly my husband received a full time offer in VT and we have decided to settle there permanently. There is one sofa in the living room and it is not old. It is flanked by 2 antique bergere chairs. You were not our last booking, and there was no conspiracy to eke out income prior to a sale. 2.You contacted us about spiderwebs upon checking in. When asked to clarify the location of the spiderwebs you indicated they were: behind the nightstands in the master, on top of the closet in the guest bedroom, in a kitchen cabinet, and in the cathedral ceiling above the master bathtub. While those are some pretty obscure places to complain about, we accommodated you and sent someone to clean again during your stay. At no point did you communicate that you killed “10-12 spiders” nor that you thought there was an issue. That would have been helpful to know. 3.You contacted us about a lack of hot water in the master shower and we sent a plumber to look at the dedicated water heater during your stay, when in fact it was because the thermostatic shower valve was set to a low temperature and you did not know how to use it, but did not tell us that. When we figured out the reason I did follow up so that you would not find yourself in the same situation, and that apparently came across as defensive. 4.You came to San Diego to work at Comic-Con and AirBnb adjusted our rates accordingly. Notwithstanding this premium time and the extra cleaning performed during your stay, we charged only $100 for a cleaning fee for a large home in a very nice neighborhood. As you mentioned, we do ask our guests to complete the following upon checkout: (1) put dirty dishes in the dishwasher instead of leaving them in the sink, (2) clean any hair out of the shower drains (because leaving it is just gross), (3) put wet towels in the hamper provided instead of leaving them on the floor, (4) empty any trash into one receptacle, (5) strip the beds and leave the sheets on top or in the laundry, as they prefer. You are the first guest to complain about this. 5. When we entered the home after your checkout we found the living room thermostat set to 98 degrees and the furnace was running. When I asked you about this you feigned ignorance, despite the audible fan/furnace running. Setting the temperature that high in San Diego in mid-July is not only irresponsible but dangerous. Rest assured, we will be in touch through AirBnb once we receive the utility bill. Most of our guests have appreciated our prompt and clear communication. You seem to have interpreted this as defensive, but had you engaged in better communication we might have been able to ensure a more comfortable stay for you, although I am not optimistic about that.
