An early 18th Century cottage located on the edge of the old village. Dating back to 1710 the cottage looks out onto open farmers fields & woodland beyond. The cottage is south facing & enjoys plenty of light. Guests are welcome to use the outside space which includes BBQ, stream, lawn and outside seating. The cottage is down a number of steps, with no access for cars, so any luggage has to be carried down from the parking area (street level) down to the cottage (in the valley) & back up again.

The space
Guests are welcome to use the whole house and garden as well as the large parking area. Inside the house there is a large kitchen diner with seating at the table for 6 as well as a large lounge with TV. There is a small pantry which contains a second fridge and washer and dryer. Upstairs are two bedrooms with views out over the fields. A large bathroom with a shower over bath and a second w/c.

Guest access
Guests have access to all parts of the house and garden.

Other things to note
There are a number of friendly local pubs and eateries within walking distance as well as a well stocked co-op. There are also lots of superb walks for those keen to explore and I can offer lots of advice on routes to take depending on what guests want to see.

The cottage is in the original village with close access to a friendly CofE church - you may even be lucky enough to hear wedding bells! A close neighbour is a pub which does food (5mins walk max) and there are lots of other eateries and micro pubs close by. The area is quiet and residential. There is a train station 20mins walk away and a good supply or bus stops offering travel to a variety of places in different directions. I can help guests with this if they require. We’re 40 minutes to Chatsworth, 20mins to Hardwick and only 10mins to Felley Priory if stately homes and gardens are your thing. We’re also only 15 mins to great cycle trails across Derbyshire and have great dogs walk right on the doorstep.

Professional family woman based in Nottinghamshire. People often ask why do we AirBnB our home?.. and it’s something I’ve thought a lot about recently, and it’s mainly because we feel so blessed to live here we want to share our joy with others. We work hard and enjoy the work of making a beautiful garden and home and we love being able to share it with others. We often have parties and friends over and we hope that by sharing our little slice of heaven with like minded souls others might feel some of our happiness and peace.
