A mix of beautiful old Jaffa, with a flea market, beach, trendiest bars and cafes, Arabs and Jews, city view, great restaurants, 24 hour shops, a 4000 year old city and... a host who is willing to show you how to find all this :)

The space

I see Airbnb as more than just renting out a room. For me, it is the meeting of people and the exchange of culture and conversation that makes it unique and interesting.
If there is an interest from your side, I will be happy to show you around, share tips, share stories and share dinner. I cook!

Please read through so you know everything about my place in advance, but here is a short summary:

My apartment is in a prime location in one of the most beautiful but also vibrant places in the country. The balcony is a great place to sit and watch the flea market and people walk by.

The guest room is small, has a single bed, and it is mostly meant for sleeping. It has a small window facing the living room that can be kept closed. In the guest room you will have your own AC, ceiling fan and a satellite TV.
Due to the way the apartment is built, it would mostly fit people who are not coming just to rent a room as we will be sharing a living room and as the room is small most guests prefer to also enjoy the rest of the apartment.

If you are 2, you will either take my bed, or one of you will use the comfy sofa bed.

And now the rest:

For you guys, who are interested in exploring the local culture, try typical foods, get to know new people and explore the city from within, in a way you would never be able to as a regular tourist.

Come stay with me in the best location in Tel Aviv-Yafo, where Jewish and Arab cultures mix, where the city never goes to sleep, where you'll enjoy the craziness of Tel Aviv as well as the ancient charm of Yafo.

I am offering a room in my newly designed apartment in a new building in one of the best locations in Israel. But I am also offering a little Tel Aviv Jaffa experience through my life here.

My apartment is located just in the heart of the trendiest area in Tel Aviv: Just across from old Jaffa, 2 minute walk from the beach, the Jaffa port, restaurants, bars and cafes, with 2 balconies overlooking the flea market and the Tel Aviv skyline!

The apartment is in a new building with a private beautiful garden, private parking and an elevator.

I will also offer you a local sim card with unlimited local calls, sms and 3G internet for you to use, and if you wish and we find the time - I will be happy to show you around and discover some of the Tel Aviv and Yafo secrets.

The apartment is fully furnished and has:

- A Master bedroom.
- The guest room with a single bed.
- Living room
- Fully equipped new kitchen with all the appliances.
- Washing machine
- Dryer machine
- Satellite TV
- High speed Internet (wifi)
As my guest I will offer you a free local sim card with unlimited calls and internet !

The apartment is just off old Jaffa and the clock tower, where you can find 24/7 stores, ice cream shops and bakeries.

Gay friendly !

You will enjoy your own room and restroom, and shared kitchen and bathroom.

Staying with me is meant mostly for people who want to meet locals and experience the Tel Aviv life, and less for people who are loners... If you wish and I have the time - I will show you around and share with you some Tel Aviv Yafo secrets :)

I am a Hebrew teacher, so if you have any interest, I am always happy to share some linguistic knowledge.

Contact me for further details.

Just to make things clear:
My apartment has 3 main spaces: a big spacious living room area, my bedroom, a main bathroom, another small toilet, and the guest room where you will be staying.

The small (guest) room has a single bed, and is mostly meant for sleeping, it is not the type of room to stay the whole day in. But it does have a private satellite TV and AC.

There are two balconies facing the flea market where the real life takes place.

More info about the area:

The Yafo flea market just across the street is a cool place to spend a weekday morning (for a calm hangout and shopping) or a Friday morning (for the same experience but hectic and very busy). In the evening it becomes the new hip area of Tel Aviv with restaurants, bars and cafes. Gentrified is the word I guess, but still in quite a tolerable way.
During the months of July and August there is a night market every Thursday.

If you cross the street to the other side you are at the Jaffa old city with its breathtaking small alleys, newly developed port, art galleries, the best Hummus in Israel and an amazing view of Tel Aviv.

Near the clock tower (2 minute walk) built in the Ottoman period, you can enjoy Abulafia bakery famous pastries (basically dough and some more dough), a shawarma at Doctor Shakshouka (believed to currently be the best Shawarma in town), or good coffee at Rogette's coffee place.

If you are hungry or need a fruit shake or a cigarette at 4am, it's all there 24/7. (even on Yom Kippur, Yafo has some open shops).

If you go deeper into Yafo where the population is mostly Arab, you will get a feel of a real Palestinian town with shops and restaurants and also.. driving culture.

And this is just whats to do in the really very near surrounding... there is of course a whole lot more and Tel Aviv is only 10 minute walk away...

I'll be happy to show you around (in case we have a common language of course) in the evenings or weekends, and not only the beautiful sides. Seeing the poor foreign-workers quarter with all the African refugees, Filipinos and Chinese is also interesting if you ask me... but it's up to you of course :)

Location

Tel Aviv, Israel

The flea market area is probably the coolest neighborhood in Tel Aviv, if not in Israel. It has that special mix that people love of old and new, of hipster and old generation, the sea and the old city, and the best food you can find. And it is, like everywhere else in Israel, super safe at any time of day and night.

Shalom ! I love having guests and showing them what this city and country have to offer, and it is quite a lot for such a tiny place. I see Airbnb as more than just a platform to rent out a room. I have made many new friends through this site, and I am always ready to make new ones. That is why I usually offer my guests, besides the regular guest needs, also a window to my life here and try to share, if interested of course, my knowledge and experience so that you as a guest will also get to know this place. Officially I am a Hebrew teacher and would also love to share any language knowledge if you are interested. I love to cook and eat great foods from everywhere. I would travel to Bangkok now just to eat Som-Tum and khao moo kratiem! (that would be one helluva expensive rice dish, if i do that). Come visit us ( thats's me and Buzhi my cat) at the best urban location in Israel where the sun always shines, even in December. Well, not always but usually :)

During your stay
My apartment is not big, and would suit mostly people who are not just looking for a room. The guestroom is small and has a single bed and is good mostly for sleeping or relaxing for reading or watching TV, but the living room and the balcony are the best places to enjoy my apartment and neighborhood, and these common areas.
