Where you’ll be

Vienna, Wien, Austria

The apartment is located in a quiet residential area, but not at all extinct. Guests feel very different about the noise level of the street aswell. Some enjoy the quiet area, as they experience it, others talk about a "noisy street". In my experience both cases can be true, although I would deffinitely tend to say that the area in general is very calm an safe. The only exception can be someone who thinks they really need to get on the gas in the middle of the night in order to feel better.

Beneath the flat is an Arab cultural club run by an Egyptian, sometimes attended by large groups of playing and hookah smoking men of all ages. When you pass by, you get a breath of this incomparable decelerated idyll, and come back to the apartment quite relaxed.

Opposite the corner is a dreamy little Turkish vegetable and meat market, which attracts the Turkish inhabitants of the area. In the side streets of Siebenbrunnengasse you will find countless small shoemakers, tailors, locksmiths and mobile phone shops. The nearby Siebenbrunnenplatz and the surrounding playgrounds and parks fill with children, adults and old people from the first warm spring days. All this and much more gives the area its unique charm and its very peculiar romance.

Over the last few years, the 5th district has gentrified on and on, the farther you go down Margaretenstraße towards the city center, the more you will find eclectic small shops, boutiques, all sorts of fair and sustainable shops and concept stores, among them young ones open-minded people frolic.

A little further out there is more multiculturalism. From the Reinprechtsdorferstraße you will meet a healthy mix of people from the ex-Yugoslavian countries, Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Turkey and the various Arab countries to India.

The "Grätzl", as they say in Vienna, is therefore quite vibrant, be it cultural or economic, creative or hospitality versatility.

On the Siebenbrunnenplatz is already the nearest supermarket. But otherwise, the usual grocery stores and a large selection of discounters with a short walk to reach. With the bus one is in a quarter of an hour in the next big shopping street, as well as on the Karlsplatz (in the center).

As far as the location of the apartment is concerned, I anticipate that the feedback of my guests is extremely divergent in this regard, especially in relation to the connections and the distances to popular places. Some feel that the apartment is too far away from the places they want to see, while others are excited about how fast they get everywhere.

Therefore I recommend you take a look at the fotos with the fastest connections and at the same time take into account that in many cases there are other options to reach a destination. It happens, for example, that one time, taking the tram and subway to Karlsplatz is faster, while another time it is the bus, that is more convenient, etc. It is definitely worth to get informed, not least on Google Maps, that usually provides good connections at the time.

Throughout the years I was living abroad and also during all of my traveling I encountered only welcoming friendlyness and open interest in my background and culture. Now i don't want to miss out on the chance to open my own doors here in Vienna, in order to let fresh winds from abroud revive our tired minds and spirits.

embrace difference

During your stay

I try to respect your privacy as much as possible, which, on the other hand does not mean that we can't talk and get to know each other. With some guests long, short, deep or funny conversations develop, others I hardly ever see, then a little sleepy "Good morning" is quite enough. Both is good and absolutely fine.Feel free to ask for directions. If you want to see something specific in the city, or you have a certain idea of your trip, I will be happy to consult.

Basically, I want to leave you your freedom, but that doesn't mean you can't have a little chat and get to know each other. Feel free to ask for directions if you want to see something special in the city, or if you have a specific idea of your Vienna experience. I can advise you, and I also have a tip or two for you.
