Marsh Harbour , Central Abaco, Bahamas

Just 60 steps to the crystal clear aqua Atlantic Ocean, Casa Casuarina is the last house on the western edge of this beach community. You can view the sunrise from our beach hut. To the west (and out of sight) is an abandoned fishing lodge where wild peacocks still roam.

Cherokee Sound is shallow and protected by sand bars and out islands. A very child-friendly beach. A favorite spot for bone fishing.

Jack and I live in Maine and have walked to work for years. He to his architectural studio, where he now paints and does sculpture. A bit further along the path is Spindlewood Waldorf Kindergarten, where Susan taught for 28 years. It is still a Waldorf preschool and is now welcoming families and friends as an Airbnb during the summer. Our second and third generation live next door. And a Navaho Churro sheep is waiting to greet you in the pasture. One of the best things we ever did was walk the Portugese Camino de Santiago de Compostella. We are inspired by the hospitaleros.
