One minute walk to the convenience store and Hoka barn shop.
2 minutes on foot to Kyoto Aquarium.
A 5-minute walk to the World Heritage Site - Nishi Honganji Temple.
A 10-minute walk to Toji Temple, famous for its Gojuu No To.

>>>> Toji Temple & Flea Market
Five blocks south stroll along the Omiya Dori (Dori means street), where you can see Toji Gojuu No To Temple. Toji temple can be reached in 10 minutes walk from Kyoto Catholic House.
>>>> Nishi Honganji Temple
Many foreign visitors might think that cool places in Kyoto are golden temple, red gates at Fushimi Inari shrine, monkey park, speakeasies in downtown and so on. This is not really the case. Honganji temple is the must place to visit for you because there is the essence of Japansese culture in here. Catholic is to the Vatican what Japanese buddhism is to Honganji temple. You can walk from Kyoto Catholic House to Nishi Honganji temple in 5 minutes.
>>>> Fushimi Inari Shrine
Fushimi Inari Shrine is located just outside JR Inari Station, the second station from Kyoto Station along the JR Nara Line (5 minutes, not served by rapid trains). If you ride a bike, it will take 15 minutes from Kyoto Catholic House.
>>>> Kiyomizudera temple
Part of the fun of visiting Kiyomizudera is the approach to the temple along the steep and busy lanes of the atmospheric Higashiyama District. The many shops and restaurants in the area have been catering to tourists and pilgrims for centuries, and products on sale range from local specialties such as Kiyomizu-yaki pottery, sweets and pickles to the standard set of souvenirs. There is a bus stop bound for Kiyomizudera temple nearby. At our reception, we will show you where the bus stop is.
>>>> Nishiki Market
You have to ride on a city bus number 207 bound for Gion. Fortunately the bus stop is located near to Catholic House. Our staff will be delighted to teach you where the bus stop is. Please remember you have to get off at Shijo-Takakura bus stop that faces on the Shijo street. And one block north of Shijo, you will reach the market.
>>>> Kyoto Aquarium & Umekoji Park
Kyoto Aquarium is modern and nicely designed, but small compared to Japan's best aquariums. It was newly opened in March 2012 in Umekoji Park.
Umekoji Park is a welcome patch of green in one of Kyoto’s more built up areas. Previously the site of the JR freight railway, in the early 1990s it was converted into a city park, which opened in 1995 providing local people with a wonderful space in which to enjoy, trees, grass, flowers and clean air. You can also see many people go jogging every morning in the park. If you make a stay at our guesthouse, it is very easy access to Kyoto Aquarium and Umekoji Park. It will take only 2 minutes walk from Kyoto Catholic House.
