The space

The Colony is a mid-century colonial icon in Portland's St. Johns neighborhood. This property is a fully-functional event space featuring two fully furnished, stylishly designed apartments tailored to make your stay in the Pacific Northwest inspiring and comfortable. Units can be rented separately, together or in conjunction with any of the adjacent event spaces that make up The Colony.

The 'Landing Pad,' is a mid-century inspired, one-bedroom apartment with plenty of room to cook, dine and entertain in style. A large eat-in kitchen with vintage charm and a chic, open dining/living space make it an excellent home base for longer stays. The bedroom is spacious and airy, looking out towards large Douglas Firs and year-round greenery. This apartment features a full-sized bathroom with a tub/shower combo. A sleek Danish daybed makes room for a third guest to sleep comfortably in the open floor plan living-room.

The Colony's two bedroom apartment 'Bones & Arrows' is suitable for larger groups. To view the listing, please visit:

Colony's place is roomy and comfortable in an eclectic neighborhood northwest of central Portland. We felt everything had been done to make our stay a success.

We really enjoyed our stay at Colony. The apt is extremely spacious, peaceful, less than 1 mile from downtown St. John and Cathedral park. We will definitely like to stay here again.

This was actually our second stay at The Landing Pad and we enjoyed our stay the second time as much as the first. It's a large apartment providing plenty of space to spread out. We like the location because it is walking distance to St. John's downtown area and Cathedral Park. Dayna was just a text/phone call away to address any question. We're hoping that sometime we can do a third visit.

Our family rented both the Bones & Arrows and the Launch Pad apartments for our family Christmas weekend. The apartments are exactly as described, though the photos don't do justice to the beautiful and unique decor. They are spacious, clean, beds are super comfortable. In spite of being in the heart of St. John's Portland, the apartments were very quiet and we all slept great.

This is a beautiful space but not everyone is comfortable being in a former funeral home and above an event space that can be noisy.

We booked a one night stay at the landing pad in the St. John's neighborhood, never having experienced this area before. The apartment is huge, even larger than it appears in the photos. Lots of room to spread out lounge, entertain, or just relax. Unfortunately for one night stay late already made plans to eat in a different neighborhood, however on Saturday morning waking up and walking to the St. John's Saturday market was really fun. Very quiet, very clean and the friendly check in was a breeze.
