A proud supporter of Canada Parks and Wildlife, CPAWS. Your stay will help reach our vision. Nationwide charity dedicated solely to the protection of our public land and water, and ensuring our parks are managed to protect the nature within them. In the past 50+ years, they’ve played a lead role in protecting over half a million square kilometers – an area bigger than the entire Yukon Territory! Their vision is to protect at least half of our public land and water so that future generations can experience Canada’s irreplaceable wilderness.

For 7 yrs Mistaken Point was home with power provided by wind and solar. This forgotten corner of the world changed with UNESCO's designation. The gravel road which was impassable at times was paved, new buildings for our Rangers and hydro power for the cabin. once the dust settled, the mink, otter, seals, eagles, eider, and fox all returned to entertain. NL does not have raccoon, porcupine, bear, groundhog or snake which makes exploring and berry picking less inhibiting. Seeing 3 new fox cubs this year, a new eagle fledgling (and last year's) plus an impressive amount of Kittiwakes indicates life has not changed for the Reserve inhabitants. They will be here when you choose to come.
