Characterful, cosy and quirky late 17th century weaver's cottage situated in the suburb of Fartown approximately 1.4 miles from Huddersfield town centre and train station. There are excellent links from the train station to Manchester airport, Leeds, York and London via Wakefield. Bus stops are close by (for Huddersfield and Bradford) and there is easy access to the M62 (approximately 2 miles away).

The space
The small bespoke cottage is full of character and charm with an interior that's a fusion of vintage, retro, industrial, rustic and country cottage elements. The main space is the cosy kitchen/living room (approx 5 metres x 3 metres in size). The kitchen section has a fridge, kettle, toaster, microwave, single induction hob and small oven. The simple living room has two comfortable leather armchairs, coffee table, and electric heater. The upstairs bedroom (approx 3 x 3metres in size) contains one double bed, an electric heater in the bedroom, hanging space for clothes, and a wall-mounted 32 inch HD Smart television (with Netflix, Prime, Now TV & Freeview Catch up channels, where you can key in your account passwords to watch) and new bathroom suite has an electric shower (switch inside landing cupboard).

Outside the cottage is a private/fenced garden with outdoor table and two chairs, that guests are welcome to use. There is an adjoining cottage next door (it is current unoccupied, but somebody may be staying there during your stay). The cottage can accommodate 1-2 guests due to its size and 1 dog or 2 smaller dogs). Although situated in a fairly busy urban area, the cottage is set back from the road which gives it a more removed and secluded feeling and usually its pretty quiet.

Guest access
Guests are welcome to arrive from 3pm onwards and the departure time is by 11.am.

Other things to note; There will be a selection of foodstuffs available (in the fridge and on the shelves) for the preparation of breakfast, which could include the following: bread, butter, breakfast cereals, various spreads, filter coffee and tea. Guests can use the key safe for self check-in from 3pm onward.

Hi. I’m Andy. I divide my time between three lifestyle jobs, a travel writer & photographer, building Flatpack furniture and being an Airbnb host, making my cottage in Fartown on the outskirts of Huddersfield available to guests. I enjoy working on the cottage, making improvements and thinking of little details and ideas that can enhance a guests experience. When I’m not busy working, I’m taking my dog Sweep (a Sproodle) on walks particularly while staying at my partners house in Meltham, on the edge of the Peak District. Away from work and dog walking, I enjoy golf, tennis, going to brunch with friends and building furniture out of reclaimed wood. I hope you enjoy your stay at my cottage also know as The Nest.
