The Baffa House is by far the best place to stay in Beirut. Samer and his family are wonderful hosts and will help you with anything you might need during the course of your stay. Highlights include the homemade sweets (the apricot tart, apple cake and strawberry jam are amazing!), chatting with the kind and lovely Mekdes who prepared my breakfast each morning, and getting to know the Baffa House's various guests, who come from all over the world and always have interesting stories to share. I absolutely recommend booking here if you are coming to Lebanon! The Baffa House is a clean, beautiful and peaceful sanctuary in one of Beirut's best neighborhoods. You will not regret your stay!

I found in the Baffa House a new Home: -A house beautifully furnished in every detail and very clean, which you would like to take care of as if it were yours -A place you enjoy to reach back after a day spent outside -A place you enjoy to return after a few days of “tourism” away -A place full of citizens of the world that you are happy to discuss with every day for more than 5 minutes and beyond the basic talks about the weather -A place where you are happy to wake up every morning to enjoy a healthy and tasteful breakfast so that you can gently come back to life and prepare for a new day To leave the sentimental side and give a few facts explaining why the Baffa House proved ideal for all my favourite activities (see my profile!): -exploring the city: the house is located in the latest trendy area of Beyrouth but also one of its most historical residential areas where you can walk and discover ancient houses but also the architectural mix of “tradition and modernity” (apologies for the cliché expression!). Other parts of Beyrouth are easily reachable either by walk, by taxi, “service” or even by bus (lebanese style) -eating: every morning a whole breakfast is served including lebanese cheese, Lebanese “pizza”, home made sweets (cakes, jams), hot drinks, cold drinks, fruits. For other dishes, there are many restaurants around the house or by walking distance which Samer will be happy to recommend (“Samer’s list”). -sleeping: good quality mattress, clever air conditioning system, efficient window shutters, quiet close neigbourhood at night (the house is not on the main street of the trendy Mar Mikhael’s area though all the shopping and nightlife related activities are only 5 minutes by walk) -reading/doing nothing: the house has 2 balconies (Ponant/Levant, one for the morning and one for the evening) on which you can sit with a good novel (Amin Maalouf’s Les Désorientés for example !) or just let your thoughts come and go while drinking a delicious rose water. And when sunlight has too much decreased, you can return to your room where a tiny reading lamp enables you to go on with your reading in bed. Just perfect.

I absolutely loved my time at the Baffa House. Samer is an excellent host, and made sure I had everything I needed, even organizing taxis for me to and from the airport. I loved learning about the history of the house, and the breakfasts were exquisite - Samer's mom makes these coconut crisp pastries that are fantastic! There's even a goregeous jasmine tree outside that you can smell the fragrant blooms from the balcony - I loved sitting out there after breakfast each morning. I highly recommend staying here when you're in Beirut - centrally located, very comfortable, and clean, and all amenities you could need.

Samer was a wonderful host. His guesthouse is located on a quiet street right off rue Armenia in the Mar Mikhael neighborhood, which is full of bars and restaurants and, unlike many other Beirut neighborhoods, has retained much of its old architecture. Samer was happy to suggest bars and restaurants nearby. He even made a reservation for us one night and changed it for us when our plans changed. The guesthouse itself is lovely, with high ceilings and a balcony where you can sit with a book. I'd love to stay here again the next time I'm in Beirut.

What a great experience we just had! I highly recommend the Baffa house for a stay in Beirut. We were 3 girls in the orange room which is more than perfect, clean, new, with your own bathroom and big enough for 3. The flat is decorated with taste and is very welcoming; amazing breakfast, complimentary wifi and more than perfectly located in Beirut. Moreover our stay couldn't be so perfect without Samer :) We can only wish we can come back soon!!

Baffa House is a wonderful place to stay whilst visiting Beirut. The house is very tasteful, clean, light and airy. Samer was a great help, advising us on where to go in the city, nice places to eat and how to take day trips by public bus out to Byblos and Beiteddine. The breakfast is delicious- made by the lovely Mekdes who was very pleasant to talk to and so kind to us. We especially enjoyed relaxing on the large balcony, watching the world go by in the evenings. It is in an excellent location, in the heart of Mar Mikhael and just a short walk down the street to the bars and restaurants of Gemmayzeh. I would highly recommend Baffa House to anyone looking for a quality and enjoyable place to stay in Beirut.

I'm a filmmaker living in Beirut. Obviously, I'm passionate about cinema so once you get to my house you'll notice some items related to films. I'm also interested in other form of arts (literature, music..). I usually travel to participate in film festivals/events or for a shooting outside Lebanon. When we travel my wife and I "as tourists", we usually look for a charming house to stay in as you're doing right now ;)
