This is an excellent place to stay. Out of town/in the country - and easy to find - food provided, much of it home-made. It really felt like being in a weekender that is your own, with every thing you would provide for yourself. Maureen made good contact with us, and was a delight to chat with about the farm, her gardens and animals and the local area. The only reason I rated it 'as expected' was because of the previous reviews I had read which rated Halloran House so highly and we were not disappointed

Maureen is an incredibly hospitable host and the surroundings are spectacular. Highly recommend Halloran house for a stop over or longer vacation. The cottage was clean, well equipped and very homely. The home made choc chip cookies were such a welcome delight after two days on the road. Hope to stay longer next time.

Maureen's place is a breath of fresh air...literally! The country location and crisp winter air were invigorating. The cottage is lovely and warm, with everything you need provided by Maureen...including delicious banana bread! We thoroughly enjoyed our time here.

Halloran House is a wonderful place to stay with a family. Maureen was incredibly warm and generous to us and our children and every nook and cranny in Halloran House reflected that generosity of spirit. There was ample linen, the house was warm and comfortable and there were toys to play with and books to read. Maureen also made sure there was nourishing soup in the fridge and delicious banana cake on arrival and our seven year old hasn't stopped talking about feeding the animals with her. We definitely could not find any fault with the accomodation and we're looking forward to next time!

This is a great stay for families with littlies. It was just like going to stay with relatives in the country and Maureen went out of her way to make sure we felt comfortable. The kids adored all the animals too!

In all my (many) Air B and B experiences I have never had one such as this: Maureen is simply the most generous, warm and hospitable host. The house is not only extremely clean, comfortable and charming - it's infused with Maureen's love and hospitality. Meeting and feeding the animals was such a wonderful experience and perfect for my Danish visitor who said it made her trip to Australia! Maureen packed the fridge and benchtop with fruit and homebaked goodies and sent us off with marmalade and books and cards. Washpool National Park is stunning and not far off, Glen Innes is wonderful.... but really: the main attraction of the area is Halloran House!!!! I cannot recommend it enough!! Thank you so much Maureen.

Animals, children, showing the animals to children, chocolate, books, relaxing, (some) gardening, life's simple pleasures really. Getting out and about in the sunshine and fresh air and making the most of every day.
