Thanks so much for your feedback Andy, which is so useful to keep the standards of our villa to our guests expectations and allow others to read about your experience so they are prepared.
As you have noted, Bali is quite different to Singapore and I’m so glad it gave you the opportunity to teach your children about another culture. Bali’s insects are truly amazing, but we understand that some people are scared of them so we have installed glass to all openings (windows and sliding doors) to prevent their entry to the bedrooms, along with a mosquito net which is very effective during sleep. We are a bit sad you had to ‘terminate’ some though as most insects are harmless but attracted by light .....next time, remember to keep the windows and doors closed when you put the light on and the fan helps keeps them away too!
We are familiar with the lack of lit areas in our special Bali ‘haven’ so we are happy that you took heed of our advice to bring torches. That’s why we make a point of sending notifications about torches on several occasions before arrival. Many think it adds to the charm of the place, in the middle of Ubud, with no crazy motorcycle noise at night (just the frogs having parties) along with the ancient variations along the paths. We strongly support keeping it as is, rather than developing it into a well lit bituminised suburban path and are glad your teenagers enjoyed this experience too.
We have noted the problem with the water heater thank you, and a new one with the latest Japanese technology is already installed!
Sorry about the hair dryer experience. May I suggest just to be careful in using any due to humidity...
Thanks again for your feedback. We truly appreciate you giving your first hand experience to help us help others have a good experience in this rather unique and charming culture.
I hope that you will tell all your friends of your adventure and recommend our villa to them. As you say it truly is a ‘nice quiet haven tucked away from the hassle and noises from the main road’.....
