Located in BAYFIELD INLET in the magical Archipelago of Georgian Bay, enjoy the comforts of modern life in the remote beauty of unspoiled nature. Windswept white pines, glistening bedrock & fabulous sunsets/sunrises. Get away from it all & recharge in nature.

The space
This is truly a remote island, perfect for experiencing the beauty of nature. Activities include swimming in the pristine water, canoeing, kayaking, fishing, photography, reading, sleeping in the hammock and star gazing.

THE NORTH CABIN
The North Cabin is a rustic, double A-Frame sleeping cabin. Bright and airy, it sits on the point of a peninsula with beautiful views to the north and east - you can watch the sunrise from your bed. It also has a wood-burning fireplace and a skylight. The front door leads to a very private zone, with your own deck and dock, a pair of Muskoka chairs and a campfire spot. The back door faces the courtyard in the centre of the island which connects to the main cabin.

THE MAIN CABIN IS ACCESSIBLE TO GUESTS 24 HOURS A DAY.
The Main cabin is the communal space located in the centre of the island, a short 50 steps from the North Cabin. This rustic A-Frame was built by hand in the 1950's and has the amenities of modern life. There is a kitchen (with 2 fridges), a 4-piece bathroom, a screened-in dining area, patio deck, living room and laundry facilities. There is a monitor in the living room for video/DVD viewing & a sound system. There is good cellular reception on the island.

Your hosts have their own private sleeping cabin. There is tiny Studio cabin off the dining deck which includes a library of books, videos, puzzles, cards and games for those rainy days.

Blueberry picking time is late July into August.

There are only a few neighbouring cottages in the area, all at a distance, so it is very quiet and peaceful.

Guest access
North Cabin guests have access to the Main Cabin on the island. It has a fully equipped kitchen, living room , 4 piece bathroom, dining room and laundry. Located 50 paces from the North Cabin, accessible 24 hours a day.

Other things to note
Skinny dipping is permitted in the private bay.

This is a remote island in the archipelago of Georgian Bay. Rocks, towering pine trees, moss and ferns surround us. There is a camp store at the marina (for any last-minute items before the boat ride out to the island). Pointe au Baril offers a small grocery/hardware store, gas station, bait shop and LCBO. Big shopping should be done ahead of time in Parry Sound, which has all amenities.

We fell in love with the beauty of the Georgian Bay Archipelago, on our first visit, and one of our great joys is sharing this little corner of paradise with others who appreciate being in nature. Peter and I are pretty easy going folks at this point in our lives, once we learned to 'go with the flow.' ;) We treasure the company of our loved ones and the simple things in life. We love being in the solitude of nature, listening to the wind and the trees, and the birds. Throughout our lives we have been very curious folk and are always exploring alternatives in music, health, technology and media, to name a few areas of interest. Peter is also a 'student' of craft beer and single malt whiskey. I teach at Ryerson University in the winter months. We enjoy kayaking, all kinds of music, photography, yoga, swimming, boating, big thunderstorms, gardening, picnics, sharing meals, stimulating conversations, poetry, and lazing in the hammock with a good book. When not on Georgian Bay, we like to look for treasures at garage sales and auctions. We have met many wonderful folks from France, Ireland, Czech Republic, Finland, Italy, Nepal, Iran, Germany, the US and Canada too, of course. We look forward to meeting you! Liz and Peter

During your stay
We fell in love instantly with this beautiful remote spot on Georgian Bay. We enjoy experiencing the reaction of people who discover it for the first time.

We prefer to adapt to our guests' preferences. We stay in a sleeping cabin that is also separate from the Main Cabin. There is enough space between cabins for everyone to have plenty of privacy and be able to choose their communal times.
