Travel through time as you enter this newly restored Old Salt Box home with all the modern conveniences.
We extend a warm welcome to NFLD and Labrador travellers who are exploring their beautiful corner of the world.
Hopefully we can host all travellers in Spring 2021: Please monitor NL government travel restrictions. In response to current travel challenges, we have significantly reduced our nightly rate, introduced enhanced cleaning protocols, and added a 24 hour gap between bookings.

The space
While taking in the ocean view, imagine nearly a century ago when ten men and a horse pulled the house across the ice from nearby Ship Island to where you now stand in Pike's Arm. You'll discover original artifacts from decades past, reminiscent of when the house was a family home and a community museum.
Add a stay at The Museum to your list of Newfoundland adventures!

Our home in Pike's Arm is about 20 minutes from Twillingate and an hour from the ferry to Fogo Island, both popular tourist destinations. View the ocean from the front and back of the house and, depending on your luck, catch sight of a whale and maybe even an iceberg! A beautiful lookout where you see breathtaking views of the surrounding area is only a five minute walk from The Museum.

Our home is a completely renovated one bedroom, two storey Old Salt Box home with the modern conveniences of a new home. The loft bedroom has a queen size bed with a spectacular view of the ocean. There is a three piece bathroom ensuite and a two piece powder room on the main floor. All main living spaces have a view of the ocean.

Guest access
Guests have access to the entire house and the large ocean front yard. Relax on the spacious deck overlooking the ocean and enjoy a barbecue and the setting sun. Hopefully, you'll catch sight of a whale and/or an iceberg!

Other things to note
IMPORTANT - PLEASE NOTE:
Due to current Newfoundland and Labrador government travel restrictions, we are open to NL guests only. Please continue to monitor government travel updates: we hope to be able to welcome all travellers in spring of 2021!

The Museum is an ocean front (and back) home located in Pike's Arm, a small outport community. A tiny collection of homes dot this beautiful outport ocean landscape. The town of Twillingate (about twenty minutes away from Pike's Arm) has two grocery stores, a bank, pharmacy, liquor store (The Mercantile), and a post office, as well as many historical sights and attractions. Take a walk through Twillingate and visit the gift shops, craft brewery, museums, art galleries and fish market. Perhaps you'll take a whale watching tour. The restaurants and coffee shops in the area offer a variety of
traditional Newfoundland delights. Maybe you're in town for the Fish, Fun, and Folk Festival. Take in the Dinner Theatre and other musical events in town. It's worth the fifteen minute drive from Twillingate to the town of Crow Head to savour the view at the Lighthouse. Hike one of the many beautiful trails in the area while you're there.

My husband and I vacationed in Newfoundland over many years and loved the people and the beautiful landscape. We were particularly drawn to the rocky north east coast and the outport community of Pike's Arm.
