Fernando and Marcolfa were the most wonderful hosts. They invited us over for breakfast on our first morning and were very helpful in showing us around and getting us organized with whatever we needed or wanted. Fernando was very effective at communicating prior to our arrival and arranging transportation and other logistics that made the experience easy and straightforward. Two bicycles were at our disposition for getting around, and horse riding in the area was one of the most pleasurable experiences. The house itself and its surroundings are beyond anything else we have ever experienced in Ecuador (we have been around the country quite a bit). The vast gardens are very well maintained and offer tremendous views of the valley where the small town of Nono is located. Nono itself is a very quiet, friendly and secure place, where everybody greeted us when passing by. The property offers plenty of space to walk around and relax in total peace and tranquility. The house is extremely cozy, clean, beautifully designed and adorned with beautiful paintings. We had everything we needed to cook, and relaxing by the fireplace at night was very heartwarming. I would strongly recommend to anyone to stay at Fernando and Marcolfa's place! Our stay was one of the most magical experiences!

What a great start of our holiday in Ecuador! Fernando and his wife were enormously kind and showed great hospitality. It were the little things like taking care of a taxi driver at the airport to show us the route to Fernando's house, even though we had our own rental car at our disposal, advising us to go to a supermarket in Quito, before driving to his house, taking care of nice bread from the local bakery. Also Fernando gave our oldest boy a riding lesson on one of his horses. The house is a little villa, with all comfort in a beautiful garden. When we arrived the the fireplace was lit, so we really felt very welcome. The kids enjoyed putting on the fire every night. The little town Nono is a 45 minute drive from Quito, and it's great for day trips to Mindo and Otavalo. We have enjoyed our stay so much that we have asked Fernando if we could return for the last two days of our holidays. Marc van den Berg and family from Amsterdam Holland.

I had a great experience staying at Fernando and Marcolfa's place. The guesthouse is beautiful and very cozy. Fernando helped me arrange a pick up from Quito Airport and the ride cost me 35 dollars. Despite being located in the mountains the place is just 45 minutes away from Quito's Old Town (15 dollar taxi fee). There is a beautiful fireplace in the house that made it feel even more at home. Marcolfa and Fernando were very helpful and assisted me in anything needed. The view from the house is marvellous. A horse named Sid was at my disposal during the 2 days and he turned out to be as friendly as his owners. Fernando was very kind to offer me a bicycle to explore more of Nono. Nono turned out to be a very safe place. I stopped by Bife, that is the restaurant just 5 minutes walk from Fernando’s home, and had a delicious freshly cooked lunch. A perfect place for anyone looking for a time to disconnect from the world and relax while still being just 30 minutes away from the amazing city of Quito.
