Osiniak-Piotrowo, warmińsko-mazurskie, Poland

Here are some tips on what to do in the area:
Mikolajki- about 20min drive. It is a sailing village very popular in the summer. The town is packed with bars, restaurants, souvenir shops and more. An absolute must visit. Every summer the place hosts 'szanty festival'. You can rent a boat here for few hrs or for the day and explore the area.
Galkowo- 'Potocki Restaurant' about 5 min drive. Very friendly and relaxing restaurant. Food is simple and delicious. A must if you are planning to eat something local and Polish.
Across from the restaurant, there is a stud farm where you can learn horseback riding or take a guided tour through the forest on a horse.
Krutyn- About 7 min drive. It's a small beautiful village sitting right on the Krutyn river. It's a great place to go to for food and you can also rent out kayaks or canoe and explore the river. Kayaking on Krutynia River is a must. It's a very easy flowing river so it's not hard to paddle at all. To rent a kayak simply drive to Krutyn village and you will see plenty of places renting them out. You can leave the car at the rental place and they will pick you up when you are done. Usually people kayak from Krutyn to Wojnowo or Ukta village.
Wojnowo - About 5 min drive. There's The Orthodox Church built between (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN). A monastery on a Lake Dus and a brick temple of the Old Believers, that is the neo-gothic "molenna" house of prayer from 1923-27. All 3 churches are open to Tthe public and have a very interesting history.
Ruciane-Nida- less than 10min drive. Here you can do your grocery shopping as Nida has few supermarkets. Ruciane is also popular for its boat port 'U Faryja'. Faryj has several ships that go in and out of Ruciane-Nida around the lakes or to Mikolajki. Just drive to Ruciane-Nida and you can purchase the ticket at the office. The price starts at 12zl for an hour on the Nidzkie lake. If you are looking to make a full day out of it pay 50zl for a return ticket and board the ship to Mikolajki.
'Pod Debem' is just by Ruciane-Nida - a popular boat rental place. You can rent a kayak, water bike etc. There is also a small beach great for swimming as well as bar/restaurant. Keep in mind the place gets really busy.
Iznota - about 15min drive. Here you will find 'Galindia Mazurski Eden' Galindia is situated on a peninsula where the river Krutyn is falling into the lake Bełdany – marked on the tourist maps as the place with the most beautiful view. It is a very popular tourist spot where you can rent out water equipment, have a meal or drink and soak in the views.
Swieta Lipka - about 1hr drive. The village is known for the pilgrimage church, 'Our Dear Lady of Święta Lipka', a masterpiece of Baroque architecture. A great attraction of the 'Basilica of the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary' is the extraordinary Baroque organ with moving figurines of angels playing instruments. Organ concerts are a truly unforgettable experience.
Gierłoż Ketrzyn - 'Wolf's Liar - About 1.5 hrs drive you will find Wolf's Lair. Wolf's Lair was Adolf Hitler's first Eastern Front military headquarters in World War II. There is a small entry fee to access but it's worth it. If you like you can also hire a private guide or just join one of many walking tours.
You can do Swieta Lipka and Wolf's Liar on the same day. I would recommend to get there early to avoid crowds.
Kadzidlowo- Located within 10 minutes drive from our house you will find a Game Park. They have many rare native Polish animals. The onsite restaurant offers traditional Polish cuisine. (It's bit pricey though).
When it comes to lakes the closest lakes:
Jezioro Skarp - less than 10min drive or 20/30min cycle- is the closest lake known to none but locals. You will literally be on your own most of the time. It's a beautiful lake within 5km drive from the house.
Rezerwat Zakręt in Krutyn is also a must - A beautiful area perfect for walking or cycling trip. Beautiful lake perfect for swimming. It's best to explore it on bikes. Take a picnic basket and you can literally spend the day in the area.
