Kazimierz Landscape Park - There are various forms of terrain, created as a result of subsequent glaciations and erosion processes. In the park you can
find: dwarf cherry, honeysuckle drilling, common ligustr, wolf laurel, spring milk,
hairy spine, cross mustard, steppe serpentine, as well as rare turtles, orchids and ferns. In 1992, the Jaworzanka River Spring Protection Zone was established here. This is one of the few experiences of this type that exist
in the country. There are two reserves in the park area: „Cow Island” and „Skarpa Dobrska”.
Wrzelowiecki Landscape Park - The park has
varied terrain - the steep edge of the Vistula valley, numerous loess gorges, dry valleys, drainless depressions,
dune fields and plains. The main gorges are several kilometres long and reach a depth of 25
m. They form highly branched valley systems. The natural and landscape axis of the park is the Wrzelowieckie Stream Valley,
which flows into the Vistula Valley. Its slope on the section from Józefów to Piotrawin is
a fragment of one of the most beautiful geological profiles in Europe, revealing the works of the upper chalk. In the estuary
section of Wrzelowieckie Stream and in the Vistula Valley there are sets of dunes reaching 10 - 15 m
height. They are accompanied by wet, peat-filled basins with a diameter of 200 - 400 m. Rare plant species grow in the park.
The "Piotrawin” quarry in Kaliszany Cologne - an already closed, large quarry of limestone and chalk rocks,
located on the high bank of the Vistula River is a wonderful lookout point. Considered one of the most beautiful in Europe
Małopolska Vistula Gorge - Included in NATURA 2000 areas covers an area of 6418.8 ha. The northern
part of the refuge is located within the boundaries of Kazimierz Landscape Park. The refuge includes a fragment
of the natural Vistula riverbed with a length of about 36 km, with numerous branches, islands and sandy rags. The banks
of the river and the floodplain route are mainly occupied by thickets of wicker, transformed willow and poplar riparian forests, bone meadows and
pastures. They nest here, among others, a flatnose, a tortoise, a derduck, a battalion, a ricochet, a firehouse and a freak.
A tourist attraction of the area are also loess ravines and gorges, which branch near the village of Rogów in
a network called the „Horn Octopus”. Among the picturesque gorges and hills covered with forests there are many
hiking and cycling trails enabling you to get to know the natural values –
nature and historical trails can serve
as an element of education of children and young people in the field of nature, geography and history. It is a dream area for
active recreation, i.e. hiking, cycling, horseback riding, as well as water hiking.
For tourists who are passionate about history and architecture, there are mansions, palaces and religious buildings covering unusual
legends, as well as numerous early medieval fortresses testifying to the Slavic tribes living here.
A unique attraction of the area is Nadwiślańska Kolejka Wąskotorowa, which transports tourists in the summer season through the picturesque areas of the Opole poviat on the Karczmiska – Polanówka route.
In the vicinity there is a Slavic fortress in Chodlik.
