My family and I recently stayed at Neha's beautiful home. Neha was very helpful and made us feel welcomed. The home is located in a safe area, close to places to eat, and very easy to access the DC metro (subway). We took advantage of parking our car at their home which was a plu…

We wouldn't stay there again if you paid us. Two simple reasons: safety/security and comfort. Fact: the deadbolt lock on the back door did not work. Fact: the lock on the iron gate on the back door was not usable because no key was provided. Fact: the host changed the check in pr…

Response from Neha:
We strive to provide a comfortable and positive experience for our guests, which you will see with the rest of our guest reviews, but are disheartened and very surprised by this review. We would like to address the stated concerns. Safety/Security: * There are 3 layers of security in our home: three locks on all doors and double locks on the windows, a Vivint security system, and 7 external security cameras tied to a 4TB local drive also backed up to a personal cloud. We do not use the 'iron gate' on the back door because the door locks (3 each on the back and front doors!), security system, and alarm system provide ample security.*** * The alarm system was off when we the cleaning crew left our home as previous guests have accidentally set it off. We provided an extra key with an alarm key fob that has three buttons (arm away, arm stay, disarm). The guest accidentally set off the alarm from the key fob so we did tell the guest that we did not require them to use the system and she did not voice any concern regarding this matter. Most of our guests prefer not using it due to the other layers of security and the fact that the house is in a safe neighborhood.*** Check-in: You may be asked to use the lockbox we have on our front door to gain access to the home, but we are accessible by phone at all times.*** Lighting: The house is lit entirely by LEDs with compatible LED dimmer switches. Occasionally a couple of these bulbs will slightly dim and brighten - this is not a safety concern.*** Towels: Guest are given one towel each for short stays. Additional towels are in the linen closet, next to the shower.*** Kitchen Trash: The home was professionally cleaned right before these guests arrived but evidently the cleaners left a small plastic grocery bag of some trash next to the trash can, which we apologized for. Jacuzzi: This guest tried to use the hair trap (or rubber mat as she called it) in the shower as a drain plug. The actual plug was in the corner of the shower.*** This guest did not voice any concerns until this review and we later found out that she violated our no-smoking policy (we found cigarette ash throughout our patio and confirmed this suspicion through our recorded security feeds [ironic, that the security system caught her]). *** These issues were never raised to us, but could have been easily remedied by a simple phone call.
