We didn't meet Luis, but he replied to all our emails and supplied us with detailed information about the area, up to giving us the address for a cheap parking lot. The apartment is in a very good location, 5-6 blocks from the Jersey city centre and the PATH train, so you could be in Manhattan within 20-30 minutes. At the same time it is a safe and quiet area. There was plenty of space for two adults and two children.

We never met Luis since he was on trip but he left us great instructions about entering his unit, how to reach Path, sight seeing in Jersey city with view to Manhattan ( awesome ) ,lots of great information, he even filled up a fridge for us with some English muffins, orange juice and yoghourt's, that was really nice gesture. His place was immaculate, backyard with table and chairs was really enjoyable since we had a good weather.Location was absolutely perfect, 5-6 minutes to reach Grove Path station and from there second station ( 7 minutes ride ) is World Trade Center and you are in heart of Manhattan, then again after spending all your day there you can sleep quietly in his great house away from Manhattan noise. We enjoyed every minute and we already recommended Luis to all our friends

Luis' apt is really nice. Path Station and supermarkets are very close - about 5-10 minutes walk. The apt itself was clean (we met his sister while she was cleaning - because we arrived earlier and stored our luggage in one of the rooms). It has a comfortable bed as well as a Couch. We also used the kitchen to prepare breakfast and dinner.

This was the first time any of us have used Airbnb, and thanks to Luis, our stay went smoothly and comfortably. The location was perfect. The apartment is situated in a safe and wonderful neighborhood with a view of NYC just around the corner. With the PATH only a few minutes of a walk away, Manhattan was easily accessible. The apartment was a lot more beautiful than we expected (the photos definitely do not do it justice). We absolutely loved the exposed brick. It adds character and a raw charm to the apartment. The beds were comfortable, the fridge was stocked, and the place was very clean. Very specific instructions were given to us to ensure that we were able to get to the place and settle down with no hassle. We were all extremely pleased with how everything turned out, and we would definitely recommend it!

This was our first AirBnB experience and I am happy to say that it was so much more than we even expected. Luis was always prompt to respond to any questions we had and made sure to give us incredibly accurate information so we would know exactly what to expect. The apartment was amazing! If we owned one it's exactly what we would want. It had such a cool vibe (great for young adults) and so much space. Two bedrooms, a yard, and a nicely stocked fridge for this price is unbeatable! The neighborhood felt so safe and we really loved the convenience of getting to the PATH trains. We spent most of our time in Manhattan so the location was so simple! We hope to stay in Luis' apartment again when we return. There's nothing we could even complain about. Please do yourself a favor and stay here!

Luis home was very neat, clean and well organized. He had stocked the middle refrigerator shelf with juice, soda, english muffins and yogurts for our use. That was a very nice touch. The only problem we had was that the air conditioning had stopped working and naturally we were there during a very hot week. Not much he could do... these things happen but it made our Saturday-Tuesday stay somewhat uncomfortable. We met his cleaning girl upon checking in . She told us it had just broke down and that Luis had brought a portable room air conditioner for the one bedroom. That helped our parents while they slept but did nothing for the rest of the apartment. Our basement room didn't have any windows or doors so there was no way to cool it down. Our room doubled as the laundry room. With the apartment already being so hot without machines running we were not able to stay in it to do laundry so only the towels got washed and moved to the dryer prior leaving. We left the used sheets on the bed since we could not stand staying there when the machines were in use and we were asked to not leave the washer unattended while running it. We felt bad for that but not much we could do. This apartment is an awesome location to stay if you plan to visit NY. The metro lines were within easy walking distance. We only needed our car one day during our visit and that was to go to Long Island. The parking can be somewhat difficult but we lucked out with that. Thanks Luis we would be happy to rent from you again(in cooler weather)

Response from Luis:
As Radomir noted, the central air did fail right before his stay, and we tried our best to provide a quick fix given his pending arrival. I apologize for the warmth in the basement, but, to be fair, Radomir did NOT inform me that the basement was uncomfortable or about the laundry. I'm very happy his parents were at least comfortable and that you generally enjoyed my home. The good news is that the central AC is now repaired!

University professor, born and raised New Yorker. I love to travel -- last two spots were Turkey and Costa Rica. So, Airbnb is an awesome tool. The listed place is my home, so I'm selective about who stays in my home while I'm away.
