A big tent with a bed and a wood stove (safety certified in March 2022). This old yurt has kept people cozy year-round for a decade. Daytrip to Algonquin Park, visit the Opeongo Nordic Ski Club, check out local artisans or the historic Wilno Tavern. Fall asleep to the sound of the wind, wake to the sound of birds. It's self-check-in but text if you need anything. No running water so best for people with some camping know-how. Wifi available from parking area but not in the yurt itself.

The space
We've lost track of how many travellers have experienced and loved this yurt. Staying here is a very relaxing experience, ideal for those wanting simple but comfortable accommodations. It's like camping but in a big, round, warm tent with a comfy bed! The yurt is weathered on the outside but neat and clean on the inside.

Communication should ideally be through text during your stay and not through the airbnb app, email or phone call. Communication that happens in advance of your stay, or that is not time sensitive, can happen through the airbnb website or app. Thanks for your cooperation.

Where you’ll be

Barry's Bay, Ontario, Canada

There are quiet dirt roads where you can meander past lakes and meadows; you can walk to Kuiak Lake Road from the yurt. Or, Wadsworth Beach is only 2km away. It's very pretty and relaxing. The alltrails app can direct you to the Thomas P Murray Recreation Trails. Great for families or outdoor enthusiasts. There is another dwelling on the property where other guests may be staying.

Hosting since 2014 near Algonquin Park, Canada. Everyone loves my yurt! My kids and I love quiet country life and international adventures too.
