We really enjoyed this small but extremely well located apartment in the Marais district. Only a 15 minute walk to Notre Dame and a block to the Seine. It was a perfect place for us to enjoy our wonderful visit to Paris.

Let's just keep this one secret. Great location, compact and well-furnished place.

Great area! Great value! The flat was close to shopping and restaurants in the St. Paul area. We walked 20 minutes to Notre Dame cathedral for mass on Sunday. Close to subways. The flat had all the amenities we needed! Washer/dryer was a plus! Great value!

Andrée's place is very charming and comfortable. We were provided with everything we needed; a place to sleep, to have breakfast and some relaxation after long days of being tourists. The place is well situated and we actually got around mostly by foot. A perfect base for our vacaction, and we are thankful for Renée's hospitability and kindness .

We have a few concerns about this apartment... First, the ventilation fan is fairly loud so we would turn it off at night to sleep. When we turned it on in the morning it smelled strongly of car exhaust. This didn't seem to be a problem later in the day when we came home, but we ended up not turning it on in the morning until we were leaving the apartment for the day because it was so unpleasant. It seemed better upon our return at the end of the day. Secondly, the shower only has a partial door that doesn't close securely, which means it's impossible not to flood the bathroom floor while showering. The shower also has many weird showerheads and handles at various locations and does not spray well. There are also a few mould spots along the bottom of the shower walls. The bath mat is very thick and get soaked with water and there is no place to hang it so it never dries out from day to day. Thirdly, there is no drying rack supplied on which to hang your washed clothes. There is also no place to hang your wet towels after a shower. Fourthly, the apartment isn't the cleanest. The area rug in the living room is dirty and the fabric on the couch is stained. I didn't feel comfortable relaxing on it until I put a spare blanket over it. The place is a bit tired and could use some detailing and refreshing. Overall, it seems like the owner doesn't care very much about maintaining the apartment. Fifthly, although this isn't our host's fault, the upstairs neighbours are noisy. You can hear loud footsteps (someone in shoes) loudly walking back and forth a lot in the evening. There was also a music lesson one evening complete with toe tapping counting out the timing. There were also noisy neighbouring echoing in the central courtyard late one evening. Lastly, there are no instructions (in any language) for the coffee maker or washing machine. To end on a positive note, as others have indicated in their reviews, it is affordable and in a great location!

Response from Andrée:
What a list ! At least you say it is a great location with an affordable price. But your comment is typical of these people who come for nice price in a great location and then expect services and comfort as if they were in a five stars hotel. This flat gets a lot of five stars comments. You were happy with the flat during your Stay.

Our stay in Paris was far better than we could have dreamed of. The location of Andrees flat is perfect. Just a short walking distance to many quaint French restaurants and museums. Only a short walk to Notre Dame and other important historic sites. Andrees flat is enclosed in a quiet safe haven where there is a garden with a nice swing to sit on. Thanks for a great introduction to Paris. We will be back!!

Our family LOVED this flat. It is charming and well maintained. The communication from this host was excellent and Andrèe is extremely accommodating. The apartment is very close to the metro station and within walking distance to Musée d'Orsay, the Louvre and Notre Dame. I felt very safe in the neighborhood. We found a wonderful restaurant close by for dinner - Le Temps des Cerises It is very small but we loved the atmosphere and the food was great. Cafe Rey close by was the best breakfast in the area. I would highly recommend staying with Andrèe. We will definitely stay here again.
