Villa Parisi is built on a hill that dominates the Sorrento bay. The garden with century-old trees is surrounded by olive and lemon groves. On the first floor there are three wide rooms whose windows open on magnificent views of the Sorrento bay.

The space

The Villa is ideal for groups of friends or for a family looking to spend a vacation in a peaceful and charming environment.

Guest access

Villa Parisi is a BED & BREAKFAST accomodation. This suite consists of two large connecting double bedrooms (one includes an additional single bed), each with independant access to the large elegant common area where breakfast is served. Guests have access to a bathroom that is not directly connected to the suite but that is for the exclusive use of guests in the suite. The B&B has one other double bedroom with bathroom (see my other listing) that also joins this common area if you need to rent additional space. The kitchen is available only for the preparation of snacks and small meals (sandwiches for example, but no cooking), and there is a refrigerator for the exclusive use of guests.

Interaction with guests

I live in the apartment and am generally present. I love this area and have lived here my entire life, so with pleasure I offer advice on how to discover the most interesting places outside of the usual tourist routes-- incredible private boat trips for exploring the island of Capri and the Sorrento coast, for example.

Mario is a very welcoming host and the Villa has seriously stunning views over Sorrento, across the Bay of Naples and of Vesuvius. The walk up and down will keep you fit and it takes 35 mins to the station A bit longer going back up. It's a cobbled track is safer and more direct than the road. Avoid TAXI's - they are a complete rip off and scam. €37 for 5 minutes Get the bus from the station and ask if it goes past the Johanna Park Hotel will cost €1.50. Everyone speaks very good English so you can ask anyone. Get tickets in town so you can come back down again!! The restaurants of Sorrento can be good value for money and the ones Mario recommends are really good. When we left - I wish we had just walked to the station - dragging suitcases or caught the bus as the TAXI turned up late - we missed the express train (air con) to Naples and our train to Rome. The TAXI - with no sat nav - insisted they take us to Naples for €100 through ridiculous traffic with No chance of arriving on time and when we got out at Pompeii they tried to take the full fare No chance Disappointing ending BUT don't be put off as this Villa commands the best views ever and is a great place to stay

I cannot recommend this place enough! Amazing location, beautiful place and Mario was a fantastic host! He organised transfers, day trips, recommendations for dinner (which never disappointed) and ensured we had our daily espresso fix each morning. It is a sensational place to stay, away from all the craziness of the Main Street of Sorrento and only being a 20min walk away! This place does not disappoint! I will be back here for sure! Thanks Mario!

We stayed at Mario's place for two days and it brought great expressions! The villa has its soul and you feel it in every inch. We spent one evening on terassa where you can find peace and great view. Were are happy to have made this choice!

Mario's Villa is beautiful and scenic. The rooms are decorated in period style and it is lovely. Mario is kind and helpful. The two things that are very difficult for an active family is that it is 3 miles up and down into town so you are unable to go into town for dinner or a cup of coffee. Very isolated. Also there is only one shared bathroom per family on the other side of the villa, maybe 60 feet away from bedrooms.

Response from Mario:
Dear Julie, Thank you for your kind comments. It was nice to meet you and your lovely family here in Sorrento. Thank you as well for the opportunity to respond. I agree that my home is a bit secluded and not as easily accessable as some. Hopefully that is one of its many charms. Villa Parisi is not for everyone. This grand old home stays true to its original footprint and provides a special experience that many travelers are seeking. Although it lacks the “en suite” bathroom that I know many hotels have, I’m happy to say that we are no longer using the original outhouse! Villa Parisi is that one of a kind, authentic, old Italian Villa, complete with all of the wonderful charm and original details with an atmosphere that brings you in the past. Once thank you for being a welcomed guest. Best regards and happy travels!

Mario's villa was in an incredible location with jaw dropping views of the coast from all floor to ceiling windows and was everything an Italain villa should be,lots of grandiose and drama. The walk up and down into Sorrento through the olive groves was perfectly managable and rather nice after dinner down in Da Emilia's in the pretty fishing harbour (delicious seafood and we managed to eat there three times!). Mario's breakfasts were very comprehensive too and were served in the magnificent living area overlooking the coast. Mario was super helpful and organised a day out to Capri on a pal's boat, booked taxi's and generally advised us on transport. A real treat to be away from the busy town and if peace and quiet and fabulous views are important to you then I can't reccomemnd Villa Parisi enough.

We were a group of four friends who stayed at the beautiful Villa Parisi. The Villa is set high on a hill just outside Sorrento. We used a hire car which was convenient as it would be a good 20 min walk to central Sorrento.... although be warned driving around the Amalfi Coast can be quite scary due to the narrow roads and crazy driving! The Villa was well equipped and Mario was a great host and took time to answer all our question and gave us advice re getting the best out of our trip! The Villa is spacious and very unique and has obviously had a very interesting history. It has an incredible view across the Bay of Naples. As previously mentioned you walk across the dining room to use the bathroom facilities but that was n't an issue for us. All in all we are very pleased we booked the Villa .

Villa Parisi was built by my great-grandfather around 1880 and it has always been used by my family as a summer residence. Although I grew up in Naples and lived there until 2013, my heart has always been here in Parisi. I love this place - especially the wonderful rocky coast overlooking the sea. In the summers I spend as much time as possible in the water with my 8 mt classic old wooden "gozzo" motorboat. I enjoy organizing excursions for guests around the island of Capri or along the Sorrento peninsula. My main occupation is with my family business in fashion: I distribute well-known Italian and European shoe brands through Italy. Now that I live full time at Parisi, I also manage our family-run orchard where we produce hand-harvested artisan olive oil.
