The place was great! They were very welcoming, offering to pick us up from the bus station even. It's a bit of a walk from the old city (the walk back is the only bad part, because it's way up on a hill), but there is a bus you can take. Dubrovnik is an expensive city so unless you want to pay a lot more, you won't find many places right by the old city anyways. The place was clean, quiet at night, and had all the amenities we needed.

The room was nice enough, and we had a balcony overlooking the city which was gorgeous. There are two bathrooms to share with the other lodgers, so we never had to worry about being able to use it. The kitchen is also fully equipped. The location of the hostel is not bad, but not ideal if you are looking for something central - it is about a 20 or 25 minute walk to both the city center and to the main bus station ferry port. There are also a LOT of stairs to climb to get to the building itself, so this would not be a good location for anyone with limited mobility. We had a broken suitcase (the wheels had fallen off so we could not roll it, and it was extremely heavy so could not lift it for long periods of time) so it was very hard to get it up when we arrived. In the description, Miro had stated that he would come pick up guests at the ferry port (about a 3 minute drive) free of charge. Not knowing how far the apartment was, we didn`t take him up on this offer when we arrived, and we walked instead. However, when we were leaving, we knew we wouldn't be able to make it there with the suitcase, so we asked the day before if we could get a ride to the port. He said yes, but he ended up charging us 7 euros for the 3 minute drive. We could not say no as we could not get the luggage there on foot, especially down the stairs, but this was misleading as he had stated he would do free pickups and we had not even taken him up on this when we arrived. That aside, the stay was not bad, a typical hostel experience.

the place was good overall but it was a little bit far from the city, you have to be prepared for the steps! the best price for Dubrovnik!

Great little room (we managed to snag the double with a balcony) it had an unreal view of the city, especially for sunset. Miro was an excellent host, picked us up from the airport, dropped us in town and then took us to bus station in the morning for a small fee. We had to change our plans as we only had 4 nights in Croatia but would definitely go back! Thanks again Miro!

We had an amazing stay at Miros place. He and his family were really nice hosts and if you need something you´ll always find a person to talk downstairs at the other part of the house (we got a private entrance, kitchen and two bathrooms are shared with other guests). He offered to catch us up at the airport so we didn´t had to worry about shuttle busses and even brought us there for our way back as well. There is one room with a direct acess to a balcony like in the pictures and three other rooms which had the opportunity to use the terrace in the garden. Everything we needed was there to find. Even if the description says "no essentials" we had bed sheets, a little towel, toilet paper and soap. You might want to bring a bigger towel on your own and shouldn´t forget the shampoo, but besides that we had everything we needed. The old town is about 20-30 minutes by foot. If you don´t have a car you shouldn´t be afraid of steps when you visit Dubrovnik - there are lots of them. But the hole city is full of steps, so thats a main thing of the city and not really of the house and it gives you a nice inside to all the little cute streets of Dubrovnik :)
