This was my first airbnb experience with the homeowner being present while we stayed. I was stunned by how welcoming and accommodating Amy and Glen were, truly opening their entire home to us with nothing off limits. I don't think I could do that! I'm thinking it may have something to do with Amy being one of 13 kids! It felt really good, and the home itself felt so peaceful and serene. We were greeted with a cool towel for our sun kissed bodies, and a glass of wine. Awesome! We love dogs, and enjoyed that they were a part of our stay as well. Amy's food was delicious, and she even brought us a tray of goodies and limeade midday. Anyone looking for a country feel with hospitable hosts will be very pleased with this choice.

We very much enjoyed our stay at the Lucas Farmhouse. Amy was the consummate hostess greeting my husband and daughter with cold towels and cold drinks. Every morning there was a delicious and varying breakfast. The house itself was large and comfy. The photos on AirBnB were spot on! We felt right at home, having the freedom to come and go or hang out and be lightly pampered. We will be back. BTW Glenn is swell too. Here are some additional tips/comments: - The location was close enough to Wrightsville beach to use for a beach vacation - Amy and Glenn were very kind and welcoming. - The house had a spacious and comfortable country house porch. - Our 10 year old daughter loved "This Little Pig" consignment/thrift shop, which was close by - Amy has great tips on sites and dining And a few more tips/comments from our daughter: - Amy might tell you that she isn't a good cook but I thought she was an excellent cook - I liked the bath robes and slippers - There is a great swing out back, highest I have ever been on and most fun when you have someone to push you - The dogs are great - The wooden rocking horse "rocks" - Amy & Glenn have latches on all of the doors...that's not because they want to lock you out it is so the dogs don't bother you - Every night at 7pm a herd of deer appear in the field - I had a great time!

Amy has found her calling - she is an amazing host and she pours her heart into making your stay as enjoyable as possible. Not sure where to start....flexible check in and check out, daily breakfasts, welcoming basket with snacks, fresh flowers in your room, great suggestions for local hidden gems. A true AirBnB experience. We are beyond delighted.

Your energy was a gift. I keep telling people about how adorable Bobby was with the burnt toast and his culinary experience. Open, genuine, no egos, you epitomize what Air B and B experience should be. Honored to have hosted you.

I had only one magical evening with Amy and Glenn and wish I could have stayed longer. Glenn indulged my request for a grand house tour and detailed the craft and care they’ve taken to restore the Victorian farmhouse to its original splendor. Amy’s curated collections complement each wall, shelf, and nook, not overbearingly so but with an artist’s eye for balance. Three rescue dogs shepherded me to the front porch and breeze and then to the kitchen to get another cold drink. I felt totally at ease and comfortable sitting on the settee with Amy and Glenn as we talked into the night not as if I were a visitor but family. Amy showed me a party trick with a stand up broom. I slept comfortably and deeply through the night in the downstairs bedroom. It was private, beautifully decorated, and had an en-suite bathroom with shower. Amy left a note welcoming me for the evening with a bottle of water, fruit, nuts, and candy. There is a lot of light and warmth within this home, with much credit to Amy and Glenn. They welcomed me to return someday soon and I plan to do so.

Amy, Glenn and their three pups were fantastic hosts!!! Their home is very cozy and welcoming. Not to mention the abundance of outdoor places to relax in (Our favorite was the tree swing!). We came for a friends wedding and decided to make a mini vacation out of it. We even went to the blueberry festival (on their recommendation), it was very cute and we had a blast! We highly recommend staying with them if you are looking for a layed back time with great people (and don't forget about the amazing breakfasts)!! We would definitely go back!!
