WOW! What can we say, from our first email, to being greeted personally by Caterina and Marco, to helpful and friendly communications with Filippo and finally to a send-off in person by Caterina and Marco on the day we left. It was like saying goodbye to good friends.
The house was perfect for the two of us, but would be great for four people as well. The views from all windows and from the upstairs private terrace are breathtakingly panoramic. Views of the surrounding hills as far as the eye can see and of the vineyards sloping down the near hillside were heavenly. But, the most spectacular of all were the most beautiful sunsets that we have ever seen, each unique night after night. During our stay, we had a day or two of rain and witnessed a rainbow in our own backyard. The private pool is a plus and is surrounded by a grassy spot shaded by olive trees.
The house is more inviting and tastefully decorated than we had imagined. It has a rustic décor in lovely colors with antiques and plants throughout. Each room is spacious and has distinctive features that have been carefully planned and lovingly appointed. It is indeed like being in your own home. The quietude is welcome; the only sounds are the occasional car on the road and church bells ringing in the distance.
The house is spotless, it has a great kitchen with more than enough equipment and dishes, and the 2 bathrooms are perfect. The photos do not do justice to the elegance of the Villa. The house is centrally located and near to all major Tuscan regions including Florence and Siena, as well as to charming smaller villages away from the crowds. Wine and olive oil tastings abound, as well as local markets and a more than adequate super market within 5 minutes, where you can buy wine, mortadella, burrata, and other regional foods.
Caterina, Marco and Filippo …..Grazie mille we will be back!!
