Nice room (18 sq/m) in a cool, Nordic flat in the Frederiksberg neighbourhood. Child friendly. Free bicycles for guests. Ten minutes to the city centre by bicycle or bus. 15 by metro.
(NOTE: the listing says maximum 4 people - but that means two kids and the parents. Not 3 or 4 adults. The room is otherwise perfect for couples or visitors travelling alone.)
A lovely room in a large CHILD-FRIENDLY flat available for visitors to Copenhagen. Ten minutes from the city centre by bicycle - on safe, separated cycle tracks of course - in the Frederiksberg neighbourhood. Casa Copenhagenize - being the home of the "Danish Bicycle Ambassador" - provides you with free bicycles, too. That'll save you 100 kroner a day right there on rentals.
Free wireless, no television (listed as a GOOD thing), and a free insiders guidebook to the city.
Every other week my kids live here, and they're lovely. It's great for them to meet people from around the world. It's a casual environment here at Casa Copenhagenize so be open-minded.
The bedroom faces a busy street, but the windows are new and drown out the sound. The listing says "smoking allowed" but it presupposes that you'll lean out the open window or pop out onto the back stairs.
It might help if you know my Copenhagen Cycle Chic or Copenhagenize blogs but it's not a requirement. If you do, we can have a chat about Copenhagen as a cycling city and urban planning and whatnot. I can also fill you on the nightlife which, in many cases, is more important. As well as museums, architecture, etc.
Close to the Metro (600 m) for getting there from the airport as well as a major bus route (3 m).
If you have kids, let us know, too. There is an small extra bed in the room and we have a mattress if you have two kids.
The bed can also become two single beds if you like. Just let me know in advance.
Also, if you have small kids, we have a three-wheeled cargo bike for you to use if you need it. It's usually available, but let me know if you need it.
Wifi, bathroom, kitchen, bicycles.
The Frederiksberg neighbourhood is quiet and cool. It is a ten minute ride by bicycle to the city centre and the neighbourhoods of Nørrebro and Vesterbro. There is metro and buses, as well.
Two major bus lines and ten minute walk from the Metro. But hey... this is Copenhagen. Ride a bicycle.
Mikael is a great host and he has a beautiful flat. It was great fun. I would warmly recommend it.
Returned to Mikael's apartment, again for a short business trip to CPH. Everything as expected. Flat is well located, close to Metro. Bike included is the best way to get around town and experience CPH. Will definitely return.
Mikael is a wonderful host. Everything is exactly as advertised, and the neighborhood is a perfect location. Having a bicycle to use is very handy and Mikael provides great advice for finding your way around and learning the bicycle rules of Copenhagen if you are not familiar!
We had a lovely week at Mikael's apartment. The flat is spacious and with a relaxed atmosphere, and Mikael is a very cool host. We enjoyed talking about cities and bikes and he was helpful in guiding us around and sharing tips. His children are adorable and the bikes make all the difference in seeing the most of Copenhagen. Highly recommended!
Michael runs a relaxed household which is fun to be around. Highly recommended for people who are interested in getting around by bicycle! Copenhagen possibly the easiest large city in the world for getting around on a bike.
I enjoyed being able to cook (even baking bread!) while being careful not to interfere too much with space in the kitchen.
Most of all I enjoyed and was informed by the conversations about urban mobility, urban form etc.
Also a great place to stay if you just want to catch public transport and see everything.
Mikael is a generous host and has a very nice apartment. Also I was invited to got to the pub next door together with his coworkers which was super cool. To have a bike reserved for you is nice, too. Overall it was a great experience, I really felt at home!
The reservation was canceled 22 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Mikael is probably the most interesting hosts we've met through airbnb so far. We had so much fun talking to him and would have loved to stay a bit longer in Copenhagen, if only to discuss about moss graffiti, winning silver medals or using renewable resources. The possibility of using the bikes was wonderful, Copenhagen is probably experienced best this way. Thank you, Mikael!
We had a great time staying with Mikael. He was very generous sharing his home, family and knowledge of Copenhagen and its cycling culture. His apartment was comfortable and well located and we were made to feel welcome by him and his children. He assisted us with ideas for how to spend our time in Copenhagen and his involvement in our flat tyre turned a mishap into an adventure. Thank you for the hospitality.
Our stay in Copenhagen was great and the possibility to use Mikael's bikes even with our two kids surely helped. The apartment is quite central in a rather busy street which offers shopping facilities and bars, restaurants and cafes. Unfortunately we didn't get to meet Mikael, but he seems to be generous and uncomplicated.
