The Treehouse is 4 meters up in the trees near Elk Point, Alberta. Its a perfect place to strengthen your love relationships and have some fun in a natural setting. This is truly living off-grid with electricity provided by the sun!

Contact us if bringing friends, as there is room for tents and RVs.

Cell coverage is poor except for a few spots. You can also check out our new "Hobbit Haven" on Airbnb. It's bright and spacious despite being dug into a hill.

No Pets Please!

The space
The treehouse was designed for 2 adults on the main plus 2 in the loft, but we've slept 8! A couch folds to double-sized futon and a cozy loft has queen mattress. Sheets and pillows provided for beds. Two other mattresses can be used for sleeping on the floor.

It has a kitchenette, electricity, chlorinated water, toilet, shower, wood heater, propane heater, BBQ

The rental includes fire pit, rock sauna (you'll love it), free firewood, use of unserviced camping spots, outhouses and outdoor shower. Your extra friends/relatives can camp and use the water hose, second outhouse and second fire pit. We don't charge for camping, just $20 per person for extra guests. If at the time you reserve you don't know how many extras will be coming, just enter 2 guests and we'll sort it out a week or two before arrival.

Where you’ll be

Kehewin, Alberta, Canada

You'll need to go up the road about 1 km to get cell phone coverage.
You can walk down to Kehewin Lake to see the pelicans, cormorants, swans and other birds. The government boat launch is about 1 km north along hwy 41, and fishing is especially good for pike and perch.
Elk Point is 15 minutes away with RV sani-dump, garbage bin, gas station, bars, restaurants and grocery stores.
St. Paul and Bonneville are larger than Elk Point and are a 20-30 minute drive.
Fort George and Buckingham House historical site (25 minute drive) showcases the fur trade and the settlers use of the North Saskatchewan River. Whitney Lake has a free sandy public beach for swimming and is only 30 minutes drive. Ross Lake is also good for swimming.

This treehouse hosting thing has really turned out to satisfy all of the above. I'm currently finishing off a second building - a "Hobbit House" - built into a hill about 200m from the treehouse. Also solar powered but it features a live roof and a lot more room.
