A large rustic Trullo which offers the pleasure of spending a charming holiday in the heart of one of the most unique landscapes of Italy, the Valle d'Itria.
This Trullo is located five kilometers from the picturesque white village of Locorotondo and is surrounded by olive trees and the local oak trees called "fragni".
This traditional building is an example of unspoiled rural architecture. Built in the 1800s as a farmhouse and later modernized, the Trullo balances the old charm of the stone structure with modern necessities, like bathrooms and a kitchen, without offending the original structure.
The main building has a master suite and bathroom and two additional double bedrooms that share the second bathroom, a kitchen, a dining room, and a spacious drawing room with a fireplace.
Adjacent to the main building is a smaller building with a double bedroom and an en-suite bathroom.
The house has been preserved in its simplicity and few concessions to modern amenities are provided. The small kitchen is functional, and well appointed, it includes a refrigerator, and other small appliances as well as a washing machine but not a dishwasher. The Trullo is an ideal place for those who want to enjoy authentic life surrounded by charm and beauty.
The electrical system was updated in 2014 to comply with all current safety standards.
The Trullo has a large stone terrace in front of it and a delightful "patio" on the side affording a perfect venue to enjoy outdoor dinners in a cooler setting. The square table set in this patio can accommodate 12 persons comfortably seated .
A private parking just outside the entrance to the terrace is for guest's usage and can fit up to 3 cars.
There is also a little terrace in the lower garden where you can spend time reading in the shade in the late afternoon.
One of the most appreciated elements of the house is its outdoor shower just below the stairs that lead to the garden. It's wonderfully refreshing, particularly after a hot summer day on the beach.
The seaside is about a 20 to 30 minutes drive depending on where you prefer to go. You can choose between rocks or sand beaches, with or without private parking, umbrellas, deck chairs, bars, etc.
I personally live quite far away from the Trullo, but guests will be followed by a local caretaker who speaks English.
I live in Milan where I work as a graphic designer. I'm also a passionate promoter of natural wine for which I organize a festival once a year.
