Come stay in our newly renovated, private, studio-style suite! Please keep in mind that studio-style means there is no separate bedroom. Guests can enjoy a full kitchen, bathroom, dreamy queen-size bed, day bed with trundle, TV with Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime Video, HBOGo, ESPN+ and more! Relax on your private patio with screened porch surrounded by bamboo. The privacy and greenery make it hard to believe we're only a 15 minute walk/5 minute Uber to downtown and campus

The space
This space is a separate, very private guest apartment in the backyard of our 1940's mill house. It is STUDIO-STYLE, meaning there are no separate bedrooms. This is a historic building with antique metal siding and a rustic outside feel. The inside has been renovated with brand new floors, kitchen, fixtures and more for a clean, modern feel. The property was once used as an after-hours night club and has since been renovated and restored to a living quarters. The guest suite, named Cherry Moon Social Club during it's nightclub days (we still have the original door!), is now a modern and cozy abode. The space is studio style, meaning one big room, with a full kitchen including brand new appliances, queen size bed, day bed with trundle and full bathroom. Guests can enjoy a large and private back patio with a separate screened porch. Switch on the fan and string lights and relax (bug-free) while surrounded by a bamboo grove. Perfect for a couple's getaway, home-base for exploring the city, or a relaxing retreat, this property is truly unique and full of Athens history.

Guest access
Guests will have access to park in the private gated driveway, a large yard, large private patio space, and private screened porch right outside your back door!

Other things to note
We have 2 cats that like to roam the property. One is a rather round white cat who is a little skittish, you might not see her. The other is a white and grey siamese mix. He loves to talk but can be a little moody when it comes to pets. They will mostly stay close to the house but may be curious and peek inside to see what you're up to. If you're not a cat person, let us know and we will try to keep them in the house. If you are a cat person, feel free to makes these little guys your new friends!

Athens, Georgia, United States

The Chicopee-Dudley neighborhood begins in the easternmost portion of downtown Athens, where apartment buildings and the city's central bus hub transition to river corridor and then single-family housing. The main downtown historic district and North Campus are minutes away! Even though we are so close to downtown, the quiet setting in a single-family neighborhood combined with the deep set-back from the street make it easy to forget you are just footsteps away from Athens' vibrant scene. Historic mill houses are interspersed with newer infill homes of various styles. Our neighbors include families with children, students, professionals and artists. Many UGA professors choose to live in this neighborhood because the walkability to campus and the abundant greenspace set us apart from every other in-town Athens neighborhood! Thank you for being considerate of your neighbors during your stay!
Campus and downtown are natural extensions of the neighborhood, offering plenty to do and see. Other neighborhood highlights include:
--Dudley Park (bike, walk, run...then grab breakfast or lunch at Mama's Boy restaurant, not to mention the famous REM Murmur Trestle. Dudley Park is also connected to the newly open terminus of the Firefly Rail-to-Trail, featuring an impressive new pedestrian bridge high above the waters of the Oconee River that leads back to downtown.)
--The North Oconee River Greenway (take a run or bike ride! The Greenway trail is a 3.5 mile, 10 foot wide multi-use trail that passes just down the street from the house. It connects Dudley Park and Sandy Creek Nature Center.)
--Mama's Boy and Weaver D's (two popular restaurants...did you know the latter is a Jame's Beard honoree?)
--The Trail Creek Greenway extension (connects you via First St. to the wooded/mountain bike trails and splash pad at East Athens Park)
