The Tryon Suite is a spacious, sunny lower-level suite with a private entrance, a full kitchenette, and brand new modern decor. With full access to the backyard and gardens, it's an affordable home base for your Island adventures, and perfect for solo travellers or couples looking for a cozy getaway.
The space
The Tryon Suite is an oasis away from the city and a nod to the neighbouring Tryon River. It's a cozy, chic, and sunny lower-level suite with private entrance and access to the backyard. Clean, modern, and flooded with light, it's the ideal oasis to return to each night after you return from exploring the Island.
Guest access
The Tryon Suite is a large studio suite comfortably furnished with a spacious queen-sized bed, a cozy seating area, a small kitchenette (2 x mini fridge/freezer + drink fridge +microwave + medium-size Breville Smart Oven + Ikea Tillreda portable induction hob), and a well appointed bathroom. Ideal for solo travellers or couples (in some cases we will accept a 3rd person and have a sofabed available for them.) Wake up to the blissful sound of silence, local organic coffee, our own special granola, and a selection of Island treats. Beach bags and towels + picnic baskets. Starlink Wi-fi. Bikes and bocci available upon prior arrangement.
You are welcome to meander through the Hideout's gardens.
Other things to note
The Tryon Suite is down a short flight of stairs so would not be suitable for someone using a wheelchair or mobility aid.

The Hideout is designed for those who value tranquility, quiet, and privacy, but who desire to be close to all the riches the Island has to offer. Set on several acres at the end of a private country road, The Hideout nestles up against the protected Lord's Pond/Tryon River watershed and a stand of mixed woodland. We're visited daily by blue jays, goldfinches, cardinals, chipmunks, and occasionally--early in the morning--by the foxy red fox. That means you'll wake up to the sound of the birds, take your coffee on the dock at the edge of the lake, and enjoy the privacy and solitude of our vibrant gardens and yard. Bike down to the beach, kayak the river, or simply get lost strolling the many trails and country roads.
Both The Cottage and the Tryon Suite offer you the utmost privacy and all the amenities of home. We stock strong local coffee and all sorts of little surprises from Island artists and local foodie destinations. It's a place for savvy travellers seeking a rustic chic getaway, a functional workspace, and laid back Island vibes.
