The space

An original place, a loft recently created in a former locksmith's workshop, bathed in light under a huge and magnificent restored glass-roof.

Our living quarters can accommodate of family of five and can be rented on a weekly basis only.

This loft was recently designed in the heart of the Saint-Michel district, on of the most genuine and oldest district in the center of Bordeaux.

It enjoys a generous and a zenithal light thanks to a huge glass-roof wholly renovated with, in addition, some large skylights.
The volumes are very spacious with a 130 habitable square meters and 7 meters under ceiling in the main living room.

The originality of this loft is to offer a unique life experience in an atypical space where on the 1st floor protrude several "cubes" which house three bedrooms and a bathroom.
The general atmosphere of the loft is very arty and "bohemian chic", and the contemporary furniture perfectly matches vintage pieces from the 20th century and old Berber carpets.

This loft situated at the back of a building in the rue Marengo is perfectly quiet.
No neighbours underneath or above.
And the noises from the street are quite muffled.
The district in itself is rather calm which is a luxury in a city center.

Besides, a private parking space is at your disposal in a shared garage in the building itself which will be extremely useful for it is very difficult to find a free parking space in the center.

Guest access

During you stay, all the rooms of the flat will be completely accessible.
You will be able to use the electric appliances as well as the video and Hifi equipments which you will take great care of, of course.

Interaction with guests

I am used to welcoming travelers in an other flat a few meters from this one which is my main residence.
As I am myself devoted to history, culture and architecture, I love exchanging and advising (if need be) the people who rent the flat (in vivo or by mail) on the places to visit, the restaurants and things to do in Bordeaux and the surrounding area.
As we are "gourmets", we also know the unmissable restaurants of the town.
From the bistrot-canteen style with home-cooking, to exotic cuisines and starred restaurants, we will able to guide you !

Other things to note

This loft is available during 4 weeks only in summer :
°2 weeks in july (from the 4th to the 18th).
°and 2 weeks in august (from the 1st to the 17th).

The loft is for rent a minimum of 4 nights.

Herve was a lovely host. We had everything we needed. The positioning was amazing and the artist's loft one of the nicest apartments I have ever stayed in. Anyone looking to stay in Bordeaux should consider this apartment.

Blessed inhabitant's of Bordeaux, we will welcome you in our home, and in atypical flats, in the heart of our city, with great pleasure.
Travelling, discovering new places and the people who live there is part of those privileged times in one's life.
The same applies to hosting and meeting people.
An open-mind and an open-heart are, according to me, the most essential qualities to live at its best our journey through Earth.

Bordeaux is an extremely beautiful city.
And it is all the more beautiful since numerous restoration works have been achieved in its different districts during the last fifteen years.
Some works are still underway, here and there, because the architectural heritage of the city is important.
From now on Bordeaux can boast the largest protected urban perimeter for Europe and was declared World Wide Heritage by the UNESCO because it enjoys a first order architectural quality.
But beyond architecture, it is a whole quality of life which makes of our city one of the first French metropolis where more and more people move in every year.

It is now your privilege to discover Bordeaux.
A good start will be to stay in our home, either in a flat designed in one of the oldest buildings of the city (foundation date 1249) formely known as the Cordelier church with its adjoining cloister, or in a loft what used to be a lock-smith's workshop.

Unique places to live in, a unique town to discover.
