Villa Hampel, a big vintage farm house in the Izera Mountains in south-western Poland, is pleased to offer an XXL upper-floor barn space with a fireplace. Own entrance, spacious living room (64 m2) with mountain views, sleeping room, bathroom with shower, terrace. Quiet village on edge of a vast mountain forest. Miles of walking, running, trekking, cycling, and bushcrafting terrain: ca. 1000 square km with virtually no human settlement - Góry Izerskie (Jizerske Hory, Isergebirge).

The space

Your space is a converted upper floor (ca. 100 m2 altogether) of a stone-brick-and-wood barn built in 1932 and includes own access through terrace door, a spacious living room (64 m2, max. height 5.5 m) with fireplace and mountain views, a sleeping room (14 m2) with double bed, mezzanine with views, bathroom (toilet, bidet, washbasin, shower), library (lots of books in English, a collection of German books on regional themes, a collection of archival maps), refrigerator.

Arts-and-crafts-minded individuals, nature lovers, mountain trekkers, astronomy fans as well as artists and creative personalities are particularly welcome!

It's a great place for a weekend outing or vacation, but if you have a creative project to work on, you'll find here all the peace, quiet, energy and inspiration that you might possibly need.

Guest access

House, garden, dojo, gallery/club room.

You'll be in a separate part of the house, with your own entrance, though you can also enter through the main front door.

There is no possibility of cooking in your space, but we are happy to share our kitchen with you. Please use it after 9 AM and not later than 9 PM - thank you.

Towels, soap, shower gel etc. are included.

Important note: cost of fireplace wood is NOT included. For round-the-clock heating (which is by no means necessary), this amounts to some EUR 6-8 per day, depending on how many brickets you manage to burn.

Please don't start the fireplace without us for the first time - we'll show you how.

Mars and his family hosted us in the most lovely way possible. We really loved our stay and Mars's house and be part of a piece of history. The place itself has great history and is visible the love and dedications invested in it. We spent a cold winter weekend around the fire in the living room, and exploring the area around. The house is really well located, and you can reach key sites between 15 / 30 minutes by car. If you decided to just stay around the house, there's plenty of woods and nice villages at a walkable distance. Is a great place to get out of the business of the daily life and be reminded there's much out there. Will return! :)

This is a one of a kind place to stay. The house is just awesome and I rarely experienced better hosts than Marcin and Matylda. So much to discover in the area and you can only hope for some rainy days to enjoy the place itself. I warmly recommend to go there for a long weekend or one or two weeks, no matter the season. I'll be back soon and will enjoy a wonderful area, a thoughtfully decorated place and the encounter of friendly and interesting people !!!

Mars and Mathilda made us feel very welcome in their beautiful home. They shared food with us and also some choice pieces of local knowledge that helped us get the most out of the picturesque surroundings. We came to escape the city and relax in nature and this is exactly what we found. The loft gave us lots of room to stretch out, it is a wonderful space. The library was the first thing to catch our attention, we spent a good 10 minutes flicking through the vast array of books before we even put our bags down. We return to the city refreshed from the location and inspired by our hosts.

Staying in Mars's and Matilda's house was like a dream! A beautiful vintage house up to the green mountains! It was like it came out from the fairytales! Very big and comfortable, very calm and very very clean! it 's the perfect choice if you want to forget the life in town and get relaxed! Mars and his wife Matilda were so opened and kind! We felt like we were their friends! We will never forget the perfect dessert Matilda made for us with blackberries she picked up from the forest! We 'll also never forget the delicious fruit they gave us every morning! It was an unforgettable stay! We are so glad we found this place and especially these wonderful people!.. Mars and Matilda thank you for all!!

Mars and Matylda are perfect hosts to their dreamlike old farmhouse in this beautiful landscape. Their food is local, healthy and yummy. They can give you insider tips to explore the region. The room is a huge and cosy attic loft where you could also enjoy your time if it is raining outside. This part of Silesia is a wild fairy tale land which is perfect if you are seeking some quite times far away from anything loud and stressfull. We stayed there for the second time and I would always come back!

If you want to escape from the stressful and rush life of the city, this IS THE place!! We never had such a pleasant and fulfilling experience in a Airbnb before. Mars family is ever so kind and warm and made us feel completely welcome and like we were at home. Sharing a breakfast and a piece of history at their table, it's something that for sure will makes us comeback. Thank you Matylda, Mars and the girls!!
