Don't be put off by the front entrance to the building; the flat itself is lovely and as advertised in terms of appearance and comfort. The location is excellent for being near enough to the city centre ( it took us about 40 minutes to walk in or 10 minutes by bus ) and yet far enough out to escape the hustle and bustle, particularly at Festival time. Easter Road has a lovely community feel and some of the nearby shops and cafes are excellent. Good contact with Julie before and during our stay. Recommended.

Really lovely flat- high ceilings, lovely amenities and lots of toys for the little ones in our group! Julie was a great host and responsive to any questions before and during our stay. The location was great- we're Fringe veterans and usually stay on or near to the Royal Mile. As it was a little further out than we're used to, I was slightly trepidatious, but I needn't have worried- walking there and back was no trouble at all, even with a toddler. Also there was an excellent beer shop just down the road… Overall recommended!

Response from Julie:
Thanks for your review James- The Royal Mile can get a bit overwhelming at Fringe time and this area is not that far from it and with a more friendly neighbourhood feel to it. Glad Oliver loved the toys to play with. Did you manage to try on the kilts in the apartment for a bit of fun? Come again. :) Thanks, Julie

We were 6 people and had a great stay here. The flat was spacious for our big group and very close to grocery stores, restaurants and we could walk to the Castle. Julie was very accommodating and left lots of information and personal touches, even milk and cookies upon arrival! Great wifi and kitchen supplies. The only hiccup was that we could never get a spot on the free parking streets so had to pay about 20 pounds per day street parking on another street (convenient via an App, but be prepared to download it and pay for parking)

We come from Taiwan, the first time to Edinburgh to meet the best landlord, and the best house. Our family loves this house, clean and comfortable. Children have toys can play, recommend everyone

Beds are really confortable. There are so many little things that makes you feel at home : the home made guides on the tablet, the toys for the children, the Edinburgh pictures on the wall, ... The apartment is less than a 30min run to the Arthur seat and close to the main attractions. One of our best rental experience ever.

Response from Julie:
Thanks Olivier. We constantly strive to improve the apartment and make it a home-from-home. We provide the tablet to make it easy to get to attractions and give an insiders view of the places we love to go in Edinburgh – not just tourist sites.

We have opened the door of our former home to guests since the year 2000. We had some fabulous times living here and it’s great to be able to pass on our knowledge and passion for our wonderful city. Bought a round-the-world ticket in my early twenties and enjoyed some amazing experiences. Travelling to other lands made me reassess what Scotland and Edinburgh has to offer and I try to see things from a visitor’s perspective. We don’t offer a flashy hotel look with minimalist furnishings, we provide a typical Scottish flat. Books on the shelves, paintings on the walls, games in the cupboards, toys for the kids. High speed WiFi, Netflix, Bluetooth speaker – stay connected and relax. We hope you can come visit.
