Other things to note

Villa „Salona“ is located in the close proximity of Split (8km), the center of Central Dalmatia. It is the location where the Roman emperor Diocletian built his palace in the 4th century. Now it is on the UNESCO world heritage list as one of the most preserved monuments of ancient architecture. The villa is located in a quiet enviroment of mount Kozjak's south slopes, hidden between ancient Salona, the medieval fortress of Klis and the mills of Suleiman the Great's daughter.
On the 1st floor you can find a studio apartment with double bed and balcony, a bathroom and a billiards room. The large terrace serves as a connection to the back yard in which you can find a swimming pool hidden from view from the street, a garden and a cottage with an authentic Dalmatian fireplace.
On the 2nd floor there are two double-bed bedrooms, a bathroom, a toilette and a living room with kitchen, dining room and balcony.
The villa has two parking spaces and a garage at your disposal.
Due to its fantastic location, the villa is very well connected with the continental part of Dalmatia, the beautiful beaches along the coast, the islands (Bra?, Hvar, Vis etc.), and nearby cities listed on the UNESCO list of world heritage sites (Split, Trogir, Šibenik).
There is also an option of taking a one day trip to the pearl of the Dalmatian coast, the city of Dubrovnik, as well as visiting some of world renowned Croatian national parks such as the Plitvice lakes, Krka waterfalls and many more.

We were with six friends visiting Croatia and had a wonderful time at this house. The mansion is perfectly situated nearby the nice city of Split and allows you to visit other nice cities as Trogir, Zadar, and the Plitvice waterfalls. We were very curious about the house and we were delighted when we arrived, our hosts welcomed us and showed us the house. They respected our privacy but were available when needed, and brought us fresh fruits from their garden. The house is very idyllic with greenery around the pool and a stunning view of the city on one side and the mountains on the other. It was clean, well maintained and was the perfect accomodation for our holiday. I would definitely recommend it to other people, this was a very positive experience!

We were greeted by Krešo, who's a really great guy. He cleaned the pool every morning and made sure we have everything needed. The house is clean and has enough beds for a larger group. The pool table and the swimming pool turned out to be the center of our daily activities. We'll surely be back next year.

We stayed for two weeks, the first with my sister and the second with our daughters and their partners. Our host and his wife were extremely welcoming, helpful and kind. They live next door but were not intrusive but checked regularly to ensure that we had no problems and gave us their mobile number to contact them. Perfect hosts! The property was set up in the hills above Split, with a beautiful view over Split and the sea. The private pool and gardens were lovely and peaceful, and the large apartment had plenty of space for 6 of us. There are nice sun loungers, and the sun is on the garden from about 8.30 in the morning until about 6.30 at night, so the pool was warm enough to swim in all the time we were there. We had temperatures between 25 and 30 degrees while we were there, and it was warm at night too. We had some amazing thunder and lightning which was great to watch from the upstairs balcony. Luckily the only heavy rain was overnight! The pool table also provided some entertainment during the heat of the day. There were three double bedrooms, ideal for our needs and because the ground floor could be used as a separate apartment, we had two fridge freezers, one upstairs in the kitchen/lounge area and one downstairs, handy if you were in the garden. Our host provided two lovely meals and on the first week we were joined by Milicia and her partner who brought his guitar. We had a lovely night together, and appreciated the chance to talk to Croatians about their country and lives. We used the local restaurant, the Girasole, that was recommended and had some great inexpensive meals there. The big Lidle nearby was great for food and good priced wine. We visited Split, Trogir, the Krka National Park and the beach, all within easy driving distance. The huge Roman site Salonae is a 10 minute drive and well worth seeing, go early in the day or late afternoon as it is very hot without much shade during the early afternoon. The first week we seemed to get a few mosquito bites, common for the Split area, take some good spray. Also the sliding glass door in the lounge gives you a wonderful view over the hills and sea, but watch you dont walk into it, if someone closes it! The seven of us who stayed there really enjoyed ourselves and would recommend it. There is not a lot of information about the villa inside, but the host is available if you need to know how somethingworks and actually drove us to Salonae and we followed him on his motorbike to the beach he recommended. (Visit the beach during the week as it was very busy at the weekend, being so close to Split.) We would like to take the opportunity to thank Grish, his wife and MIlicia for making our booking and stay so great.

Everything was so perfect: the house, the neighborhood, Milica/Doris, the landlord and his family, Croatia and its inhabitants, EVERYTHING !!!! We were a little stressed before arriving because the pictures on the website were too beautiful to be real especially at that price but as soon as we step into the house and meet Milica/Doris, all the stress disappears quickly. Everything was as beautiful as the pictures, even more and all the room were ready and prepare for our configuration. We were 2 couples, a single guy and a family with a baby. The house was perfect for us because the two couple settle in to two separate rooms in the upper apartment with the single guy in the living room and the family had the studio on the floor below and had the acces to outside (they provide us a baby bed without any extra charge!!) . We had'nt any problems with the early wake up of the baby or noise problems because we heard nothing!!! The parents were also so relieve to not bother us!!! We had also the pleasure to meet the friendly and kind landlord and we had the chance to taste authentic Croatian food (fresh fishes and local vegetables) cooked by himself on the firespace and his girlfriend. We spent a real nice evening to discuss with him around the fire and the table and we had the possibility to visit his others places to rent (as pretty as the villa). He really paid attention to our need and our comfort. We thank them and Milica/Doris for those amazing holiday and for their kindness. We recommend to anyone who want to spend a great time in Croatia (the place is well located to visit Split/Trogir/Brac island/Krka national park) this place to live during a short or long stay like in paradise!!!!
