In Greek mythology, Kalais was one of the two sons of Boreas and Orythyias and his brother Ziti Both during the Argonautic campaign they freed Fina from the Arpiyia. They were referred as handsome and agile airy heroes. Both Kalais and Zithis' brother were killed by Hercules in Tinos, where their tombs were buried after the epitaph columns, on the highest peak of Mount Gyros (Tsiknias). The myth says that the columns were moving every time the wind blows from the North (Voria).
