Our completely remodeled home features gorgeous Mt. views, huge private back yard with salt water pool/spa, and a giant gourmet kitchen with everything. Only a 5 minute drive or 25 minute walk (about 1.5 miles) to downtown Palm Springs!

The space

Casa Quetzal is our vacation home, not just an income producing rental. The home is occupied by our family and friends much more than rented. As such we make every effort to have all the comforts of home available for our guests. Most of us are foodies and we love to cook! That means the extra large kitchen is always very well stocked. From a huge array of spices to staples like flour, sugar, olive oil and condiments. There's a small herb garden that, depending on the time of year, will keep you stocked with rosemary, oregano and thyme. We love to eat outdoors and the outdoor dining set is really comfortable. There is a stainless steel BBQ and the whole area can be lit at night. The house has 3 bedrooms, two kings (new 11/16) one queen (also new 11/16) and two bathrooms. Over all it's 1850 square feet of indoor living space. The master has a private bath and french doors leading out to the pool. The third bedroom has direct access to the courtyard. We have a dedicated dinning room with seating for eight.
Our home has a separate living room and family/media room. Both have gas fireplaces but we only use the one in the media room. The house has both an evaporative cooling system as well as A.C. and there are ceiling fans in every room except the kitchen and dining room.

Guest access

There is wireless internet throughout the home. In the garage we have a full size washer and dryer.
Help yourself to the fresh grapefruit on our two trees. Eat them whole or use our electric juicer to drink them up!

Interaction with guests

Our caretaker will meet guests upon check in and go over some of the homes features. He is a long time Palm Springs resident and can offer information on restaurants, entertainment and pretty much any questions you might have about the area. In the event of a problem he can generally be at the house with in 30 minutes. We have twice a week pool service and once a week yard maintenance so things always look fresh.

We have a 4 night minimum in high season and 3 nights in low season.
Our home is non smoking/no pets. Our City of Palm Springs occupancy permit number is 6383, and the transient occupancy tax is included in the rental.

This is not a "party" home. It is our vacation home and we enjoy it a lot. We take great pride in keeping everything nice for all of our guests and ask that potential partiers find another property. We will strictly enforce a quiet time from 10:00pm-8:00am. Our neighbors are more than happy to keep us appraised. The City of Palm Springs has very strict noise regulations and will issue citations for even one violation. Short term renters are not allowed to have any amplified music outdoors. This even includes phones, laptops etc. Any noise citation/fine incurred by a guest will be withheld from the security deposit.
The maximum occupancy is 6 adults and the minimum age for renting our home is 25 years. Our home is also non smoking, however a cigar out by the pool at cocktail hour isn't frowned upon.

I have just returned from a fabulous nine nights at Casa Quetzal. Gregg's home was exactly as pictured! The only thing that the website could not convey properly would be how warm and welcoming this home is. It is fully equipped with all the essentials needed to cook, bake or BBQ anything that you may desire. Case Quetzal is located in a quiet family-friendly neighbourhood, close to several major grocery stores and a short five minute drive from the PSP airport. My sister and I were greeted by Vic upon our arrival at the house and he walked us through the property and answered any questions that we had. We quickly unpacked and headed to Albertsons to stock the fridge. The rest of our time was spent around the gorgeous pool and beautifully landscaped back-yard. We really enjoyed the many hummingbirds and the sound of the cooing doves which nest on the property. This property would be lovely for a family as the pool has a tanning shelf which would be perfect for small children to splash about on. Gregg also has many pool floats and little paddle boards. I am planning a return trip next Spring and I will be joined by my family. I am really looking forward to sharing this little piece of paradise with them. Wow what a beautiful paradise Gregg has in Palm Springs. We still wish we were there its cold in Canada! We arrived to a sunny get-a-way in a quiet neighborhood where Vic greeted us and showed us the home and surroundings. Gregg's home was filled with all the amenities we could have needed and more. The kitchen is filled with top notch appliances for the cooks out there. It was immaculately clean and well kept. Definitely a five star residence. The yard was stunningly landscaped and we enjoyed limes and grapefruits from the trees. The star is the salt water pool and spa. My children loved it and were graciously allowed to use the floats and toys (we owe Gregg one swan). The water is clear and clean and we will miss it indefinitely. Barely heard the airport and didn't hear our neighbors. Its a stunning home with a beautiful mountain backdrop. Easily the BEST, most true to the pictures and well stocked listing I have stayed at yet. We would happily return.

"PERFECTION", is the only word to describe this wonderful vacation home. Exactly as it appears in the photos, but you have to be there to really appreciate all of the thoughtful added touches. The very private pool, spa and garden area are heavenly. The fully equipped kitchen is a gourmand's delight. The bedrooms are amazingly comfortable. BUT, the greatest bonus is the Host! Gregg has a gift for making people happy and Vic, the property manager, is available 24/7 to take care of any needs, no matter how trivial. We are hoping to return for an extended stay next year!

Gregg was always available to answer questions both before and during our stay. The house was just as pictured--even better. The backyard was spectacular --beautiful pool and patio area as well as a large greenspace with fruit trees. The kitchen was very user friendly--lots of counter space and a well stocked pantry. On cool days (yes we had a few) the TV room was a great place to read or watch television.

We had a wonderful 12-night stay at Sun Villa Estates with our daughter and her family, including a toddler and baby. The pictures accurately represent this lovely house, and we were impressed with the high level of maintenance and cleanliness. We spent a great deal of time outside: around the pool and spa, playing bocce on the lawn and eating most of our meals in the outside dining area. We loved being able to use the fresh fruit from the grapefruit and lemon trees, and invented several new cocktails as a result! The view of the mountains was spectacular, especially in the early morning. The backyard is very private, and we were impressed with the thoughtful landscaping. The location of the house is ideal: a quiet, pleasant neighborhood, yet close to the airport, downtown, Ruth Hardy Park, and the main highway. The kitchen is well laid out: easy for several cooks to work in at once, and very well equipped. In fact, compared to many of the other vacation rentals we've stayed at, this was probably the best experience with respect to kitchen equipment and general house supplies. The bedrooms were spacious and the beds very comfortable: we had great sleeps. The closeness to the airport means that occasionally there are planes overhead, but for some reason the noise was minimal, and didn't bother us at all. The host was most helpful and always available, and responded promptly to our questions. Thanks Gregg: we'll definitely be back!
