Our wooden cottage in the village of Plutycze in north-eastern Poland is located 200 km (about 3-hour drive) from Warsaw; about 50 km from the Bialowieza forest. There are many interesting places just a short drive away: the Biebrza and Narew National Parks, Tykocin, the Land of Open Shutters and many more. The stay in Plutycze provides a great opportunity to discover the region’s unique nature, culture and architecture. The village is a perfect venue for cycling, canoeing and birdwatching.

The space
Our cottage is a wooden house typical of the region, whose inhabitants are predominantly Orthodox Christians (hence the resemblance to Russian and Belarusian architecture). We have renovated the house combining its traditional features with all necessary modern amenities (heating, hot water etc).

In the house you will find a selection of books, guides and maps of the region (including a guidebook that we wroted which features places of interest located nearby and information about the region).

Guest access
The house has a big garden with an outdoor fireplace and BBQ. You can relax in a hammock under the apple trees and observe the traditional lifestyle of local people who like to gather and chat on benches in front of their houses. You can also buy fresh local products here, e.g. eggs, honey, milk, vegetables (depending on the season, in winter only eggs and milk are available).

Other things to note
Instead of a TV, there is a projector in the house, which after connecting to your laptop can be used to screen films on the wall. It is a great thing for kids (who will certainly benefit from a short TV detox, we've tested it ;)

Plutycze, podlaskie, Poland

The village is located in the very centre of the Podlasie region. It is a great place to discover North-Eastern Poland. Plutycze itself is a gem of traditional wooden architecture. Places such as the Bialowieza Forest, Narew and Biebrza National Parks, Tykocin, the Land of Open Shutters and many others are just a short drive away from the village (all of the above mentioned places can be reached within an hour drive by car).

There are many attractions for children and families, such as:

- the rope park in Doktorce (5 km away) - much more than a rope park, you can spend the entire day enjoying various outdoor activities;
- the Narew river (5 km away) - canoes can be rented in Plutycze;
- Stork village in Pentowo near Tykocin;
- Herbal Corner in Koryciny;
- mashroom, blackberry or cranberry picking in nearby forests.

You will find more interesting places to visit described in a guidebook that we have written especially for our guests.
