Known as "Salvation Cabin" - 5 acres on Blanco River with kayaking, fishing, nature watching, and porch relaxing peace.

This is a restored mid-century log cabin filled with unique artifacts collected by Adena over many years of antiquing.

With abundant Texas wildlife, this is a one-of-a-kind place. Living here 8 years we realized its name -"Salvation Cabin" because we saved it then it saved us.

A throw back to gentler times, you'll leave here touched by nature's healing power.

The space

Private. Centralized to the hill country, including Luckenbach, Fredricksberg, Austin and San Antonio. Owner on property - isolated, but near. Blanco River property. Central A/C. Gas Grill. Wi-Fi available. Bose CD/Radio. True Texas authentic atmosphere and antiques. Sun-dried bed-sheets. Fire-pit and gas-grill available.

Guest access

We have tubes and kayaks to explore, swim and relax on your own private Blanco River paradise while sipping your favorite beverage.

Interaction with guests

Minimal, only as needed - fully private. We call it "salvation cabin" because we saved it and it saved us. Ask us for the story. It's a good one. Plan on relaxing and never wanting to leave.

Other things to note

Outdoor shower. Private but open-air. Tin-roof makes rain and squirrel travel very loud. Lizards are common. Rocky trail to cabin is hazardous at night without a flashlight if drunk - or if not drunk. :)

No toddlers or small children please. Cabin not child-proofed. Porch and windows high above ground.

My husband and my trip to Salvation Cabin was absolutely perfect. Adena went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable - from the welcome margaritas, to the fresh flowers, and the local breakfast supplies. The cabin itself is awesome - we found it to be the perfect combination of rustic while still being fully stocked with all the creature comforts we needed. It is also remote enough to where you feel like you are getting away, but a short drive to the square in Wimberley and close to wineries. We will definitely return!

We had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend to anyone looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The cabin was impeccably clean, the welcome was warm and the silence was refreshing. All the extra little touches Adena and Mitch add make it so special. We went when there was no sun and no water in the river, but there was plenty of exploring to do- let Laika be your tour guide! We brought our dogs and they had a wonderful time too! The cabin is gated so they were able to run around on the porch while we sat outside.

This place , Salvation Cabin, has everything you are looking for if you are looking for peace and quiet in a beautiful setting in the Texas Hill Country. Very private but not far from the nice town of Wimberley if you need supplies or want to shop or dine out. The nicest spot on the Blanco River that I have ever seen. Cabin is perfect and is matched by two wonderful hosts that live on site and are very attentive to any needs you might have but are also very respectful of your privacy. A perfect combination. Place is better than advertised. We are already planning our next two trips, one with the kids and one without them as the setting is perfect for families or couples that want a great get a way. I suggest you hurry to book before someone else does. That is what I am going to do

We stayed the last weekend of September and it was a little rainy but I think that added to the charm. When we arrived Adena greeted us with some delicious margaritas. Inside she left us local coffee, eggs, sausage, fresh bread, etc. She really went all out! The cabin is so relaxing. Decorated with so much interesting stuff too so we were never bored. It's a short walk down to the river. You kayak a few minutes to a swimming spot that was nice. Lots of fish in the water! The kids loved sitting outside on the swing. The owners doggies came down to visit us a few times which we enjoyed. We didn't want to leave and definitely hope to go back! Would highly recommend to a couple or small family. And it's only 1 hour from San Antonio. It's s great little get away!!!

Well, my goodness. I recommend the Salvation Cabin to anyone and everyone. From the margaritas that met us when we arrived to the generous breakfast foods and goodies left for us, Adena and Mitch made our stay fantastic. Let me say that it rained basically the entire time we were at the cabin, so we didn't get down to the water much. But, we didn't need to. Have you ever thought that you would just like to sit on a porch lounging while it rained on the tin roof and the water below is moving and the trees are sparkling from raindrops and the toads are croaking and you are just melting into relaxation? Well, this is the place to be.. Or would you like all that to happen as you watch from gigantic windows while you lounge in a claw-foot tub? Well, you may want to book a stay. The Salvation was more than I expected. It is stocked with everything you can possibly need from kitchen gadgets (there's a chopper and apple corer and good knives and jelly beans!) to any board game you could want to play. My husband and I discovered on this trip that we are terrible jigsaw puzzle people. But, I'm excited we got to learn that fact. There are books and instruments to play and so many blankets and some really sweet dogs and a porch swing and all kinds of awesome. If you get a chance, stay here. It really is magnificent!
