In the heart of Mid City, you're never far from any part of town. Located near numerous festival grounds. Walk to Bayou St. John, City Park, the shops in Fauborg St. John, and many restaurants & bars. Minutes from the French Quarter & Marigny.
This rear half of a house with a private entrance faces a large backyard w/ a deck, playground and a fire pit. It is a large studio type room with an open floor plan. It is not a completely independent apartment, but it is separated from the rest of the house entirely by doors. I have listed it as an entire home/apt because there are no shared areas in the space aside from the back yard.
There is a queen size bed which sleeps 2 comfortably, and if more guests wish to stay there is a sleeper sofa and a queen size air mattress.
The living room area has a couch, a recliner and this almost hammock-like pacific island recliner facing a flat panel smart TV (local channels with Hulu & Netflix) and a stereo system.
The dining area can seat up to six. There is a full size fridge, microwave & coffee pot (good coffee provided) and dishes and silverware. There is a single bathroom with a stand in shower. Also, bikes are available to use in the daytime free of charge.
The back deck has a great view of the night sky. There's not much in the way of stars in the city, but it's still nice looking up at cloud formations or just the great empty sky.
Guests will have access to the backyard, playground and all. Off street parking is available for one car in the driveway. The laundry room can be made available upon request.
Interaction with guests
I live in the front of the house, so I am around, and may be using the back & front yards at times. I enjoy welcoming people to New Orleans, so if you want to hang out or chat or find out what's good around town, I am totally fine with that. If you want to be left alone, I'm fine with that too.
Other things to note
Apparently some GPS systems mislead people to a different neighborhood, which looks rather shady. I've found I get different results depending on whether or not I put the apostrophe in O'Reilly. Please note that my neighborhood is right across the street from the Fair Grounds race track. Stallings Playground, which has a public pool, is a short walk away. The pool is open in summer months. Pagoda Cafe is within walking distance and has some of the best coffee in town.
I have the check in and check out times set at 3pm and noon respectively, but I can often times be flexible.

I love family, good friends and good times... and a lot of good times playing music for those enjoying the same. I grew up in and around New Orleans, and love what my city has to offer, although sometimes you gotta dig to find what's right for you. Sometimes you just gotta wander with the right look on your face. And, sometimes you just know.
