A one-star review does huge damage to a listing. In this case, it also stands out as unreliable, belied by the fact that the majority of my reviews are 4 and 5 stars. Without question, Antonio was looking for a luxury-hotel experience, and I doubt any Airbnb would have met his expectations. He compared my rental to the nearby Fontaine Bleau hotel, which costs 3x more per night. When I checked in with Antonio on his second day, he made generalized complaints. I asked what I could do to improve his experience. I offered to have a cleaner return to the unit, but he never followed up with me. Instead, after completing his 10-day stay, he sought 100% of his money back, which Airbnb denied as the “evidence” he submitted was one photo of an air duct cover that was slightly chipped. True to character, he left Louis Vuitton and other high-end shopping bags, tags and packaging all over the unit. Lamentable situation for me as I take pride in offering a quality accommodation at a reasonable price.
