Eco friendly, our unique home is a mix of rich adobe style render and handcrafted logs. Set on 120 private acres, lookout over our large dam, rolling hills and mountain views to Mt Buller and beyond. Come warm by our wood fired stove!

The space

Only 10 mins from Mansfield, Swiftcrest Lodge is located amidst 120 private acres of rolling hills and fragrant gums. Hidden away at the end of a country lane our gorgeous lodge blends traditional handcrafted log work with the latest in environmental building methods and materials. Adobe style rendered walls, terracotta tiled floors and cathedral ceilings exude a rich warm ambience. The property runs on stand alone solar power and is heated by a wood stove. Views of the mountains to the east include Mt Buller, Mt Stirling and Timbertop. Watch the colours change as the sun sets on the rocks over the beautiful Escarpment. The well-equipped kitchen includes a gas cooker and dishwasher. The cosy living area is decorated in eclectic antique décor and has charming country views through all windows. There are two bedrooms - both with double beds, a separate toilet and bathroom with full size claw foot bath/shower.
The surrounding area offers many types of recreational opportunities - fly/trout fishing (our dam is a great place to practice your casting), hiking, rail trail, mountain biking, skiing, XC skiing, snow shoe-ing, etc. Many guests simply enjoy the peace and quiet and stunning scenery. Abundant with wildlife you can often see soaring eagles, kangaroos, wombats and echidnas.

Guest access

Guests have access to all the facilities, we provide a PDF including directions, use of the lodge, activities and highlights of the surrounding areas. We like to surprise you with a small gift on arrival , yours to have during your stay or take home as a reminder. Could be a local wine or small bottle of gin and tonic, maybe some local produce.....who knows....

Interaction with guests

This is your private holiday, though you may wish to share your walks with our horse "Whiskey" our goat "Gidget" and the resident cows. Our local farmer may occasionally visit the paddocks to check on the livestock, please wave and say hello!

Other things to note

Thanks for a great stay. Such a clean place and stayed so warm with the fire and thick windows. Great secluded spot and lovely to walk around.

Hank's place was so great for us, and we loved that it was so dog friendly for our pups. The water system was the only annoyance as it was going off constantly throughout the night, making horrible loud noises, waking everyone up! However a great service and beautiful surroundings. Thanks Hank!

My sister and I stayed here for the last week of July while we spent time in the snow at Mount Buller! This is a lovely country lodge with amazing views of the mountains and with a toasty fire place, it's really quiet and peaceful. The only sounds are the wildlife! Kookaburras, kangaroos etc etc. The home had everything we needed, warm beds and an oven! The decor is gorgeous! Cabin lodge/vintage! A short 15 minute drive to Mansfield town which has an IGA, Bakery, Cafe and Ski Chute Four were really helpful for snow chains/snow gear etc. Thank you for sharing your home Hank!

Our family stayed here for 2 nights while we skied at Mt Buller and it was such a wonderful place to visit, we are looking forward to coming back! Our girls loved staying here especially playing up in the loft and seeing the wildlife everyday! The house is warm and cosy and has all the necessities you need. Thank you Hank for sharing your getaway - it is a beautiful home with stunning views.

I am a long time photographer/artist and short time log builder.
I love to travel for both work and pleasure.
Apart from my family (happily married - my lovely wife Carrie is pictured with me), I am devoted to great food and a good gin and tonic.
