Gladeholm is located in an inspiring landscape on 11 hectares of farmland at the edge of Stenshuvud National Park outside Kivik, Sweden. The farm is ecologic certified (KRAV) and orchard mostly pears and apples. A botanic garden of 9500 Sqrmeters surrounds this traditional South Sweden farmsetting. It is a magic place from where the Kites slowly glide to cover the fields around the hillsides. The name Gladeholm is "home of the Kites" (Milvus Milvus).

The space
Our guesthouse is normally used for writing , visiting artists and documentation projects and was originally a studiospace. It is a modernistic building from 2001 complete with floorheating and modern kitchen and bathroom.

Guest access
Guests have full access to the small house and the connected own greenhouse that can be accessed from the kitchen. Agriculture products available on the farm is free to take and eat ( available depending on season ).

Other things to note
Gladeholm also has a large yoga studio and officespace that can be opened on request. We also have both racingbikes that can borrowed as well as ordinary bikes.
I work with handling medical and other emergencies locally, the farm and area is very safe.

Location

Kivik, Skåne län, Sweden

The farm is high up in the edge of the amazing Stenshuvud Nationalpark, the south east Skåne landscape is dominated by the beautiful landscape and has since long time attracted artists and culture residents. We have around Kivik a large number of very nice galleries and restaurants, and during the summer months we host several festivals and artgatherings.

About Stenshuvud National Park
Stenshuvud National Park was formed in 1986 and is located in the south-eastern part of the province of Skåne.
For a long time the area has been affected by grazing and farming. Stone mounds piled up to clear land, stone fences and ancient remains in the area bear witness to the presence of people and their impact on the countryside.
The national park occupies 400 hectares, including 80 hectares of sea. Stenshuvud mountain itself consists of three peaks. The northern one, rising 97 metres above sea level, is the highest. To a large extent, the area is covered with forest, hornbeam being the predominant type of tree. Older trees with broad canopies, such as beech and oak, remain from the time when grazing took place in the area. Today grazing livestock have returned to the national park, keeping the countryside open.
The many different biotopes in the national park contribute to an abundant variety of flora and fauna. Here you will find sandy heaths, wet meadows, rocky coastland and beautiful sandy beaches. Below the mountain on the west side, there is a bog and alder marsh. The national park has abundant flora with some rare species such as barren strawberry, black spleenwort, sand pink, pasqueflower and immortelle.
