The cottage is nestled within beautiful indigenous gardens. For that special occasion, honeymoon or escape from the stress of everyday life in the city, Hoopoe is the ideal romantic getaway for a couple. Whether you relax in your own jacuzzi on the private patio & garden space with magnificent views of the Central Drakensberg Mountains or participate in the many activities in the valley, the cottage offers a secluded haven for you to relax and unwind!

Guest access
Guests are certainly encouraged to wander the gardens loosing themselves in its beauty and peace. Follow the cut pathways outside of the fenced in garden down to the catch and release Bass dam and even across to Inkungu Estate for a dip in their beautiful pool and a sunset drink.

We (Myself, Jess, my husband, Aydan, and our daughter Cecilia) live on the premises with our two dogs, Spritz and Naartjie and are on hand to assist guests with anything they may need.

Other things to note
Our focus is on peace and quiet in a magnificent location but close (5 minutes' drive) to all major attractions including hiking, cycle trails, golf, adventure sports, health and beauty spas, Drakensberg Boys Choir School, restaurants, pubs, bakery and hotels.
