In our spacious, tranquil mountain home you'll enjoy exclusive accommodation, an abundance of natural beauty, and the opportunity to experience one of the best coffee tours in Colombia.

Join us to experience daily life on a working Colombian coffee farm, surrounded by the sights, sounds and fragrances of rural cloud forest environment. You will learn all aspects of coffee cultivation and production while enjoying delicious Finca Mariposa Coffee!

The space
Finca Mariposa was designed and built in 2018. The amenities are modern with many custom-built features. We are proud to offer an impeccably clean and well maintained home for your private getaway.

You'll enjoy a 3m wide covered patio that wraps around the entire mountain home with amazing views of coffee farms and the Andes mountains. If you have children there is tons of open space for them to safely run, play and explore. If you’re not a kid you have tons of space to run, play and explore! :)

You can hike and cycle right out your front door or hang out on hammocks sipping coffee or your favourite South American wine. An amazing mix of adventure and tranquillity 15 minutes from the timeless pueblo of Jardin, and 3 hrs from Medellin.

Mariposa is perfect for short or extended stays to relax, work or write. Travellers from all over the world have enjoyed Mariposa's charm. An abundance of adventurous activities plus an ability to stay connected to work colleagues and family make Mariposa a very adaptable place to enjoy the beauty of Colombia.

Note: Jardin was recently chosen by the UN as the #1 rural pueblo in all of Colombia for its unique and timeless cultural and community authenticity. It's a very special place to experience Colombia.

Guest access
The entire 5 acre / 2 hectare working coffee finca is yours to explore. Including your immersion in all things coffee, you can step out your door to pick oranges, lemons, guava, pineapple and avocado.

The Finca is well equipped with comfortable beds, a fully equipped kitchen, beautiful modern bathrooms, laundry facilities and strong Wifi. Working from the finca or enjoying your favourite movies on your tablet or laptop is not a problem.

Note: The 3rd bedroom with 2 single beds is not a separate room. It is located on a comfortable semi-private mezzanine overlooking the common area of the house.

Other things to note
The owners, Maria Jose and Dave are Canadians, with deep roots in Colombia. They live part of the year Colombia and part in Canada.

Our on-site hosts, Daniel and Andrea, live in their own casita steps away from the main house and will be available throughout your stay to help with transportation, how to reserve other tours in Jardin, and any questions you might have about life in rural Colombia.

Our guests come to our farm (finca) looking for a genuine immersion in Colombian farm life, culture, coffee and access to fun and unique adventures.

Maria José and I live in Toronto and spend part of their year in Colombia. Maria José is originally from Bogota and also spent several years living in Medellin. However, she has lived in Toronto most of her life. We traveled to Jardin in February 2017 and fell in love with the region around Jardin and its charm. Through our friendship and working relationship with Rendon family we were able to buy land and build a finca within a year. Yes…Amazing! We are serious cyclists, adventure touring motorcyclists, avid hikers and of course we love coffee! You will, no doubt, be as enchanted by the region as much as we are. The people are extraordinary, the town of Jardin is magical and the adventure and eco tourism opportunities are world class. We look forward to hosting you! Dave and Maria José
